I get to see my pdoc today. This is the first time I'm seeing him outside the hospital setting. I am getting very nervous for some reason. I am scared that because of the way I've been feeling the last couple of weeks he will put me back in the hosptial. I don't have time for that. I am the committee chair for the celebrations committee and I have to speak tomorrow at the general council, I have the prizes to get, and I have to be at the party on Halloween. If I'm in the hospital I can't do any of that. I think that he will say well you can't do any of that if you are dead either. I know that and am trying to stay in this side of the living but lately its been very hard.

I don't know what he will say when I tell him that my GP and I are thinking that Topamax would be a better fit for me instead of the Equetro I'm on because Topamax helps with migranes and I've been getting one of those almost every day.

I am very scared and could use some good thoughts today.

Good thoughts coming your way Janniebug! Hope the meds get settled and to working without hospitalization so you can do the ceremonies and festivities! Hope you're feeling a lot better soon.

Good thoughts coming your way Jannie. I just got off Topamax and you are right it is for headaches too. Take it at night because cognitively it can put you in a fog even if you don't feel sleepy on it.

I don't see why your P-doc would want to put you back in the hospital. You are functioning it seems to me I see my pdoc today

Take care

I am now at my parents house. I need to call my pdoc's office tomorrow and get their fax number because one of the meds he wants to switch me to needs a prior authorization. My insurance company wants me to try Lamictal instead of Topamax. Shouldn't be a problem to get it filled though. It will take a couple of days for the insurance company to approve it and then for me to get it.

He said as long as I can stay safe and promise him I won't do anything without talking to him first he won't put me in the hospital but when I can't do that I have to go.

I am glad your pdoc is watching out for you--sometimes its too easy for them to just put you in the hospital--"just to be safe."

I take lamictal and I have found it to be a great help--good luck with it.

Sorry I was not here earlier to send you good thoughts--I'll send you some now--better late than never.

Lamictal is pretty good for most people you should be fine with that. IMHO I'd rather have the mouth sores I had with Lamictal than the fog state I was trying to live in...

Let me know how it goes...

My doc wants me to be on Topamax so I have a request in to my insurance company to put me on that. I am hoping I get the answer soon.

Last night wasn't a good night so I'm planning on stopping by my clinic today on the way home and talk with the nurse.

Okay then since it is Topamax check into taking it at night. Oh and also some good news, weight loss is another side effect with this one. Not sure if you need that information but at least it doesn't cause weight gain right?

Well my insurance company denied my request for Topamax so I talked with my GP and he asked me to have them fax him a copy of the request and he would do what he could to get them to approve it. He has the form to fill out today and hopefully they will approve it. The mediciations they told me to try I can't take them because one is cuz I have asthma and it would make that problem worse and I'm not sure about the other one but my doc was very angry when he found out they denied it.

What?? I can't believe that Jannie...I originally got a free sample from my p-doc, does yours have one? It was a 40 day supply.

What insurance is this? How wrong that is!

I'm on Medicare so have a Medicare Part D program named WellCare. For the most part its a good program but other times it makes me so mad. I think Dr. Byrum should be able to get it pushed through.
