Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience...

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner (or with us) and make yourselves comfy!

BCM, I wish you could see my chair dancing! What a song...I love CCR...and Fogerty in particular. Did you hear the album he did where he re-recorded some of the classics with other artists? It's called Wrote a Song for Everyone. Check it out if you get the chance.

My T is on vacation, and he hasn't checked in at all. I am trying to talk to myself about not feeling entitled, not being anything but a calm stable client , but it is hard since he has been coaxing me to take big leaps of trust with trauma material. It is a really weird thing to be someone's job, someone's work they leave behind on vacays. I have had a good time though keeping occupied by listening to the Psychology In Seattle Podcast on youtube.

I totally got the time of my therapy appointment wrong. I thought it's at 2:30, but it's actually at 10:30 so I missed it. My therapist was super nice about it though.

But now I feel bad.

It’s like he’s the Yogi Berra of marriage counseling.

Except Yogi really didn’t say everything he said.

Thanks for the new couch! I am weaning myself down to less appointments with t. It is going well, but sometimes like now- I just feel like he disappears. It's weird not seeing him every week. I do see him this week though. Trying hard not to email him just to check in.

Hey new couch! I hadn't properly prepared myself for the horror that today turned out to be. At one point I was a zombie with no soul. Tomorrow must be better than today. Thanks for listening!

There are typically lots of dust bunnies down there, but often there's also tea and cake.

I miss you, couch.

I got a taste of how awful IBS sufferers feel. Uncontrollable bathroom accident on the way to work = horrible, disgusting mess to clean up in the work handicapped bathroom. Luckily no one noticed I went home to change. I hate having a body.

Urgs I'm glad you were able to get changed without having to explain.

@BCM: I hope the new litter helps

Hope that works! We have 2 large ones for our 3 cats, so far so good, except the littlest one still every now and then likes to grab a piece of poop out with her teeth and then bat it around on the floor. Despite the hundreds of cat toys strewn everywhere...
