It's amazing how the everyday has the power to cause a wobble...I haven't felt 'well' enough to make tea in a year...what the hell?

I spent yesterday feeling ridiculously angry at R who will be leaving in two weeks time on the 18th for his Christmas break. Right now I just want to send him an email saying that I'll see him after he comes back in January and skip my two next sessions. Making it harder for myself by making it almost a month without him- I have exams I want to focus on but mainly I don't want to sit and talk, because I know that I'm being ridiculous. This would be our second holiday break but it feels overwhelming. I want to rage at him for leaving me behind and he doesn't deserve that. I don't feel like I can tell him that I'm scared that he won't come back and I'll just have been waiting like a lemon hoping like the blind. It makes me sad that he's a better father then mine. We never once did family holidays, so the concept of going away seems so alien.

Students are asking me questions about “Plato’s Symphony.”

I wonder if they mean the one in E minor or the one in A major?

I cooked a full breakfast this morning for h, son and I including actual real hashbrowns haha. H is still talking about it and that was 2 hours ago! Son of course has already left again. We sure don't see much of him these days. I am grateful though for the time we do get because it's more than we'd get if he were away at school instead of going to college locally. Oh, he 'graduates' from his certificate program on the 14th, but his plan right now is to keep taking classes and get an AA degree at least for now. Then he wants to get on at a bigger company and let them pay for getting his BS. SO proud of my boy.

Hope you're all having a good day. I had afternoon plans that got cancelled, which is unfortunate because I was looking forward to going out. So instead I decided on Chipotle for lunch and am working on my cross stitch.

Cats are sneaky. I chastised the kittens for breaking the christmas tree so for the last day and a half they just lookedd at it from afar. Now they are 'accidentally' knocking it over in the rough and tumble then they sit and look at it then jump into it. I am at a loss i cant even spritz them waterr because a) you cant find them in the tree and b) they like it. Hmph

I may have yelled a 4-letter word (starting with s, not f) at the TV in response to a football game (fantasy football-related). Now my D keeps yelling that word upstairs. Hopefully she'll forget about it by school tomorrow...

I don't put up a tree or decorations. Generally I don't notice them at other peoples houses . And I've always figured the couple of times we did do it, the tree just belonged to the pets. It was one of the things I was happy not to have children about because I would have had to do things like put up a Christmas tree or dye Easter eggs or recognized Halloween existed

I have friends who love doing it. I have one friend who loves everything about decorating including hanging lights outside and the Xmas tree and so forth. I know some people do like doing it sometimes. I - on the other hand - have walked right past entire lit up displays and just really not noticed they were there -So then there's people like me.
But it is always good, I think, to do things that make one happy and if that includes decorating a tree with blue lights - then I am all for it.
