What time of day do you go to your sessions? Do you go the same every week or does it change? Do you like the time of day you go?
I do evenings, when I was doing 2x a week, my second was at 1pm on a fri. I love the evenings though because its just us, everyone else in the building is gone, so I like the quiet aspect of it Just sucks right now because its dark at the time I go... so when we do our walks we gotta use a flashlight |

I have seen two therapists, one who never gave me a set time and it varied greatly from week to week and one who gave me a standing appointment time at 6pm every week. I MUCh prefer the standing appointment time for several reasons, consistency and reliability being the most important. I also like that no one comes after me because on rare occasions we run over just a little. In the winter months it is dark when I arrive but I don't mind. Oh yes, and no one else is in the building which is important for me as I find unexpected movements around the office very triggering.

I go Monday morning (first client) and Thursday mid-day. I typically have the same slots, unless something comes up for one of us. I don't really care about the exact times of my appointments as much as I prefer to not go more than 3-4 days between sessions. I do like when it's rainy or overcast during my session. It makes her office with all its lamps feel much cozier.

I see T1 at 8 am on Monday and Friday. I kind of like being first, and that way it doesn't break up my day. I see T3 at 8:30 pm on Tues. She always runs late so we often don't start until after 9. I am her last, and we always go over an hour. I like seeing her late because she is part of a large practice and the waiting room gets crowded at other times of the day. I wouldn't mind hte crowd so much, but like I said, she always runs late which means that I am in the waiting room for a while. Even when I was her first appointment of the day, she was always late.

No set date or time. I only see him once a month or so, so it varies. As much as I don't like hearing babies cry just outside the door, It would make me very uncomfortable to be the only two people in the building.

My set day/time has changed over the years. For awhile I went on Saturdays which I loved. So much easier to relax. Now I go after work on Thursday ( or did before current break) and I'm her last session of the day which works great when we're really deep into something and don't notice the clock. She's pretty good at keeping my sessions to an hour though it not sometimes we've gone over. I'd feel so guilty if I made another client wait.

Im tuesday @1, wednesday @12, then alternate tuesdays i have chiro @3. Altho this week my "workweek" extended to rite-aid @1 to pick up my prescriptions. Also planning next week no t due to predicted mini cold snap.
first tuesday of the month @1pm they test the emergency sirens here, so we are usually in place for that. |

I go at 4pm on Tuesdays which is perfect for me as it's late enough that It doesn't break up my day, and early enough that it doesn't conflict with anything I have at night. With my old blank slate T it was completely random when I would see her and I kind of like having a set appointment time now.

I asked her when she's sharpest and then went with that, which is also a good time traffic-wise. Not long ago, we needed to reschedule and she offered the end of the day and I said, without thinking (read: no tact) that I didn't want her at the end of the day after she was all used up. She laughed and said she was always surprised when people took her up on her offers for late appointments.

Same day, same time in the evening. I can only do evenings because of work, but I prefer it anyway. I'm her last of the day and she usually starts late, but we usually go long, so I don't mind.

I book my sessions in advance - always same day/time. I like being the last one of the day for the same reasons everyone mentioned: it's just us, it's quiet - feels safer and infinitely more intimate (in the best possible way). I like having the same day/time too - give some stability to my chaotic perception of the world.

With my trauma t I do Thursdays at 5 PM. I would like to go earlier in the day but I have no transportation earlier. I just started seeing a developmental t on Tuesdays. She seems to want to come a different time every week, which is sort of annoying.

T and I live in different countries, and we both have extremely busy schedules. we dont have regular times or days. if one of us happens to have some time to talk. we call pr text the other and ask if the other has time to talk. sometimes we can, sometimes we cant. so our sessions might be at 4 pm or 9 a. or 3am or whenever.

I am Mon just changed to 3:30pm and Thursdays 5pm. I used to be the last of each day. I think she is now seeing someone after me regularly on Thursdays. The change on Monday's is because she now has something so she has to leave the office right at 4:30pm. I think I'm going to ask about changing to 3pm though. I don't like to be pressured at end of session. When Monday is a holiday we will change to Tuesdays.

Except for a few times we’ve had to reschedule, I am always Thursdays at 5pm. I live and die by that consistency and find it gives my weeks a good flow. I am the first client of the day, I think my T mainly keeps evening hours. I LOVE being the first client of the day, it’s part of my routine, watching his car pull up and know everything is right in the world now.

I'm usually Wed or Thur afternoon. Often the last session, which I prefer. It seems more relaxed that way. We can wind down and chat a bit while we do schedule/payment before I leave, which seems to help me get grounded before I go home.

I go same day, same time etc. I like a routine so it suits me well. Although I also don't like hearing noise out the room either, it kind of throws me off balance for a few seconds, and brings me back into the reality of it all I suppose.

Same day and time every week, Friday afternoon. And for additional sessions almost always Wednesday afternoon, also almost always the same time. He doesn't seem to have a client at that time.

We had a standing appointment with marriage counselor at 2 p.m. Mondays. In retrospect, that was probably a bad choice of days, since H and I were often tired--H often seemed like he just wanted to curl up on the couch and go to sleep instead of talk. Plus it's in that post-lunch time frame where I think most people naturally have a bit of an energy dip. Though we've gone earlier on some days that we had to reschedule--one recently was at 9 a.m. I'm not a morning person and felt like I couldn't think or speak clearly in that session (even though MC said I was doing fine). I wouldn't want morning sessions for that reason. Well, before 11 anyway--I feel like my brain really kicks into gear around 10:30 or 11 a.m.
With T, we don't have a set appointment time, but it's usually 1:30 or 2:30 or Tuesday or Wednesday, which I think is a pretty good time for me. Once I saw him for an emergency session on a Sunday morning at 10:30 and it was like he wouldn't stop talking--seemed like a different person. (I wanted to be like, "Uh, could I say something please?") Maybe he'd had too much coffee or something? So not sure I'd want to see him in the morning again really...though that time may have been a fluke. He seems very attentive in the afternoons, so I think I'll stick with that if possible! |

I am the last appointment of the day for both T's. I see EMDR T at 5pm and T at 6:30. EMDR it is a set appointment because that is the only evening appointment she has. T it is a regular appointment for the most part. Occasionally she will text me saying that her 530 appointment has cancelled if I am available to come early...or if I have a conflict she will add another appointment to the end of the
Other day of the week she see clients. I wish I could go a bit later with EMDR T. I leave work 2 hours early to her there (hour drive). It is a hard time to leave and I hate leaving my co-workers responsible for finishing up my work. I would love to have a 6 or 630 appointment.
