H and I will be talking to MC in an hour. Because I've been a wreck since Friday and delusionally think MC might act differently on a phone call... he said he'll have about 15 minutes and suggested talking to both of us, so we'll see... Just hoping he won't manage to make things worse.

I feel so ridiculous. My therapist is out of town tomorrow, so we're only meeting twice this week. I feel very unsettled about missing tomorrow. It's one day! I'm seeing him on Thursday. I've been considering cutting back to twice a week anyway, but I don't know if I can handle it. I've been feeling very weepy for the last week or more and I just want to be able to go sit on his couch and talk about things with him.

I have called my mom 3 times today. The last time I just broke down and cried about h. He's so uncomfortable and the nurse took an hour to come fix his IV when he told them it fell out (the antibiotic) he called me crying to tell me. I guess that is proof that working through the maternal transference w t has done a lot - believe it or not my mom was the first person I wanted to call, not t. My mom even offered to fly out here. I said thanks but really there's nothing you can do and I'm staying in a hotel right now anyway. But she offered and that means a lot to me. She even said to call her anytime of the day or night that she'd keep her cell phone by her bed.

You guys, I feel like I have a real Mommy for the first time.

I got a new mattress today. I hope it helps with my back. It is really tall though, I sort of have to climb up now to get into bed and hop down out of it.
I may have to get a platform bed or something to lower it
I hope it helps, SD. Do you prefer a firm mattress? I also have back issues and need a new mattress. I usually think the more firm the better, but when I stayed at my aunt's for almost a week I slept on a very soft bed, and I think my back felt better, which was confusing to me.

Haven't called t cuz I called my mom instead. Just posted about that... H's parents are long passed. I did tell my mom I know I can always call t.

And you guys are awesome support. Thank you. We still have not been told much. He's on another bag of antibiotics now.

It came up in the context of her seeing a picture of 2ex—apparently he looks like one if the characters on the show (not Sheldon). This does not make me want to try it.

1. My internet snooping revealed that 3 is a friend or at least an acquaintance of Stacy’s. Which might explain why she has actual taste in clothes (sometimes).

2. Especially since I went all the way back to great-grandparents on each side. And could have gone back further (my mother is a keen genealogist).

3. There’s now like two feet between the couch and the two chairs. We both sit in the chairs, but if we wanted to go past each other, we would have to sidle.

1. “What Not to Wear.” A very annoying show. Haven’t seen it since I gave up cable.
2. For her, maybe. I’d already long ago figured out everything she concluded long ago (paternal side, depression, suicidal tendencies, abuse; both sides, complete disinterest in communicating emotions).
3. Precisely. When we’re both sitting, though, there’s a good five feet and a side table between us.

Sometimes my chair is too close to my Ts as i accidently brush his foot when i cross/uncross my legs. The chairs are too big to move easily. I sometimes wonder if he does it on purpose because i am sure they were further apart once

My Social Psychology textbook has a chapter on persuasion, one section of which is called, “The Two Routes to Persuasion in Therapy.”

Short version: therapists should not rely on peripheral cues like their perceived credibility or the client’s feelings towards them to elicit change, because that will be superficial, but take the central, logical route to persuasion by changing the client’s thinking via argument and counterargument.

I don’t think any of them have tried the latter at me. Or persuaded me of anything.

I'm sorry you're depressed BCM. I love the rain though. At least the gray skies match my mood. Good thing I live where it rains A LOT. Don't delete your posts. I'm sure we'd all be glad to read what you have to say.

I found that my kids could do testing that required proctoring at the local community college for free. They had a room set up for their students who needed an exam proctored for some reason-either distance learning, online stuff, making something up, or people who were given extra time. It wasn't staffed 24/7, but they were there evenings and weekends.

Not argue in the sense of quarrel or fight if that’s what you’re thinking...more like debate.

Another thread prompted me to tell this tale.

Monday, T1 suggested to me that I take elderberry for shingles. I asked him if it was a pill or a tea or what, he said that he gets it as gummy bears. I laughed. He said that he didn't tell many people that. I merely commented that we all have our deep, dark secrets. And now I know his.

No community college here. I live on the pointy bit of Australia and there is rainfoest, cattle properties and sugar cane fields and lbanana farms and little else. I will talk to the teacher at my D day program maybe she can do it.
