Hey couch! Hugs for Scarlet and anyone else who needs one.

Got a haircut this morning, sat down and told her "just cut it short, make it look good." I've had the asymmetrical thing for a year and I'm tired of it. I now have a fun pixie with wispy bangs and lots of fun layering in the top so it's not flat.

I always have a plan. It terrified me while she was razor cutting, but the end result is much cuter than what I had when I went in. Sometimes deviation from my plan doesn't have horrible results.

We're watching the baby. My sister's bail was set at $30k. She was able to make a payment deal with a bondsman, so she'll be out tonight. Her lawyer told us that if she didn't get out by Monday, the father could take custody of the baby. That would have sucked! Her lawyer says she basically ruined her custody case. It was a slam dunk, but not anymore.

It's hard not to take it in. My dad said he's been dealing with tgis with my sister for years. He says she seems to just attract drama.

I don't feel weird or bad about it but I'm terrified that if I mention this to my t or pdoc (who are female and male, respectively) they're going to be like, "you know they were stand-ins for us, right?" Which is SO not what was going on but y'all know how shrink-types are... snd if I disagree, that'll be interpreted as denial or repression!



I dunno y'all. Maybe I should avoid the fray and keep this particular escapade to myself?

I highly approve of defenestration for annoying mental health care workers. It was good that DBC’s office was on the ground floor and CW’s had no windows.

I don't know why those guys think they are fenestrated in the first place. But if they somehow did get fenestrated - they should be defenestrated as soon as possible. And hopefully through large plate glass

Coz, if the shrinks tried that with me, I’d be tempted to respond by asking whether their flattering themselves (read getting their rocks off) in this way (via a patient’s life) weren’t, you know, just a stand-in for the very likely fact that they can’t recognize a solid shag for what it is (take your pick of: it’s been so long / maybe they never could etc) and perhaps that may really point to their unresolved issues with their father / mother (mother’s always so much more interesting in these scenarios)?

Chiro: if my T would connect me with what happened to her, i'd be aghast! I mean, you had a fun/consensual night? I am not seeing the problem? If this is out of the norm for you, maybe you could tell your T? I would tell mine, but I also know that she would never make that connection and would just be curious about the whole thing, just bc it would be out of norm for me.

Wait, would they really believe those two are stand-ins for themselves? That seems weirdly narcissistic. Didn't you and your T just have that intense conversation about your childlike feelings toward her? I think that precludes any subconscious romantic fantasies. But then I don't subscribe to the Electra complex thing at all.

Velcro, yes all was safe/fun/consensual and this is certainly not the first time I’ve had this kind of evening. The only reason I’d bring it up with t or pdoc is because I’m usually too tired/depressed to socialize so this is he most interesting story I’ve had to tell in a while.

AY, good point—yes that is the only similarity; no hair color or ethnicity or theoretical orientations in common. (Well there is the fact that t and pdoc and I are all in a weird Oedipal triangle together because of how they collaborate on my treatment but that’s not actually a similarity). I guess I’m used to pdoc at least giving himself waaaaay too much credit in every possible situation so I’m wary.

yeah if it were my T, i'd tell her...but i would never even think that she would make this sort of suggestion to me. I do think your Pdoc and you have a relationship that is a bit fraught...so maybe hold back if you are concerned? I get it. I suffer from depression/anxiety, so ANYTHING I do that is outside of "I sat at home" is worthy of discussion...but I also am not wary of my T.

Yeah I think the only real parallel is that both in therapy and in bed I find myself in weird lil trios made up of a male shrink, a female shrink, and me.

Couples — of any sort — tend to try to pull in a third I’ve found (in my utterly unscientific study of folks I’ve come across), often in an attempt to cement the couple bond.

Could be a kid, friend, potential love interest, colleague, whatever.

I hate jogging haha, though taking short walks during lunch helps.

I oughta read that hygge book. T was gifted it last year by one of her coworkers and a friend was gifted it this year. I've talked a fair bit about the concept with my partner since Norway has a similar concept.

My mother's birthday is today.I ordered 3 small Yankee candles for her in addition to tea. In a conversation with my sisters on skype, literally within the first 5 minutes, the 17 year old goes "Idiot we know" in response to me saying that tracking information says posted. I cut the call and signed out. There's a large age gap of 9 and 11 years between us and I've always tried to be there for them as much as I could. Yes I know I'm sensitive, but it hurt because it was unexpected.

I'm going to limit calls and access to myself now. They don't provide me with any real comfort, but I guess I just don't want to be alone so always accepted that. My mother usually leaves skype running whilst on the phone to someone else or watching TV. My father asks the same superficial questions: What did I have for lunch or what did I eat?

You really should and I'm not the author I swear! There's also videos on youtube which explain the concept and how to adapt it. I bought a lot of candles from Ikea which included a set of three which smell like fudge and nutty chocolate. I've got the fudge one burning now and I feel does make a difference in lifting up my mood because it's comforting. I would recommened getting a very soft blanket too.

It also inspired me to buy a Pastry just for the heck of it yesterday.xD
