i just assumed she has good memory? :P not sure.. at the first meeting she had her phone out so i remember wondering if she is recording me..
i doubt she would even print them. i dont know never though of her having notes
the therapist in uk had a locked cabinet and a piece of paper and explained all the confidentiality rules...
i much prefer the less uptight setting when common sense is used rather than super strict rules. nothing is controversial, i talk to her, i email and that's. i doubt any of the information would be of any use to an outsider...

@confused77 Although it wouldn't be the end of the world to not get paid, you have to remember that you're not the only client. No-shows and cancellations add up - especially during certain times of the year (holidays, flu season, etc.). A T who sees 20 - 25 clients per week, which is a pretty standard number for private practice, loses 4-5% of their weekly income for each client who doesn't see them as scheduled. I don't think it's greedy for therapists to do what they can to ensure a steady income.

i did think it was greedy. But then maybe it's because i think of myself as very reliable and honest and wouldn't cancel for no reason... if i did have to cancel I would pay the overdue fee at the next meeting rather than have the payment taken off my card. if i agreed to the rules -
payment for a cancellation - fair enough but taking card details from a client shows complete lack of trust. practically it could only happen once with each client. if a client didn't stick to the rules i would then suggest taking card details explaining the reasoning only after it would have happened at least once.
i chose to pay a lot of money for a private therapy so think the therapist should assume i am a responsible adult.
