I have done that before when it hits like this. It helps physically but makes the emotional part worse (too much opportunity to brood). So I eventually rolled myself out of bed and went to the gym and feel stable now.

I’m eating a chicken shawarma pita as a reward. Why are all the Middle Eastern/Greek restaurants with the best food around here holes-in-the-wall that look like they wouldn’t pass inspection?

Hi, couch. Long time. I am on summer now and back for a bit.

Just got home from my pdoc appointment. First thing out of his mouth, "You lost a lot of weight." My reply, "not a whole lot." His response back, "Yes, you have. Are you eating?"

Very uncomfortable feeling. Sure I have lost some weight over the past few months, but he saw me last month and didn;t mention anything.

Anyways, I had my appointment, got my shot, and was told to come back in 4 weeks (my shots are once a month). As I was about to walk out of his office, he stopped me and told me that we should take my weight. According to his scale I am at 122. He asked how much I weighed at the beginning of the year. I told a fib. I said 135, when it was actually around 150. No one ever believed me when I weighed 150 and said I did they always thought I weighed less, so hey...

His actions today just really hit hard as I have had 5 people in the past month say that I look like I lost weight. 3 of the five said I look great. One of the five asked if I was a "Skinny Minnie"? I felt like commenting back, "No, are you a Fatty Watty?", but I refrained. Then pdoc today. Weighing me. I think he is going to weigh me every time now. Pdocs weighing is not a good thing. I'm worried what he has written in my chart now.

(((Squirrel))) why do you think pdoc weighing is not a good thing? Weight is such a touchy subject anymore. He might just be concerned if your meds are affecting your weight, if theres been a change. Are you okay?

I'm glad you're feeling a smidge better.

It brings to mind a Turkish place my old friends used to like- that literally was a hole in the wall too with two very flirty men.

He's home now. They actually don't really know what happened. Now they don't think it was wpw, and he doesn't have diverticulitis. They think it's the metformin messing with his stomach, which is causing high bp. That sounds like bs to me, but I'm not a doctor. What do I know...

It was always drummed into us to ask questions about weight loss or gain amongst others during history taking to check general organ function.

Glad he's home. That does sound like an odd explanation, but I don't know much about metformin. Maybe if it affected his blood sugar? (My MIL is on it, but she has high BP anyway, plus some other health issues.)

Yesterday was the worst day i was still wigged out about monday session then i came home to all these electricians wanting to come into my house and install fire alarms, if i lived in a private rental i would have had notice but apparently government housing does not have to do that even though i got told they do. I was so frightened to have 4 men wandering my house, i asked to go on ts cancellation list. And to top it all off every time i tried to post on here the site went down which made it seem like the world didnt really care

Metformin can cause stomach issues. I'm on it too. Ever since being on it, I haven't had a solid stool. But I've been fine otherwise and I'm on a high dose. H is on half of my dose. But I guess it's causing stomach issues?

I just don't agree that the stomach pain is causing high bp. I could be wrong. It's just weird that it all of the sudden happened.

I didn't know metformin could cause stomach issues. Maybe that's why h's stomach has been better over time since Jan, he quit taking it when in the hospital and once he started eating better n losing weight he never went back on it. Hmm!

Yeahbut lets be real - it never takes much for things to get hoppin around here. All the fumes an chemicals (from the cool whip, i mean of course!)

Eta - i guess i really am lily-livered. All these people on metformin for forever - my doctor took me off it after a couple few years, IIRC.

Just finished my Writing Autobiography and actually stayed within the word count of 350-500 words (barely, at 492 words but I did!)

The first big assignment, "Formal Exercise 1" needs to be 600-1000 words and the final draft is due 6/10. We have to post a rough draft in our first group discussion by 6/3 for workshopping purposes within our smaller groups, I guess I already know what I'm doing this weekend! We're to write a scene where one character tries to convince another character of something, whether it's true or not.

Oh, and I'm about halfway through the expected textbook reading for this week. Gotta get going on that....
