It sounds like the dog has been a challenge to deal with and I would not like to interact with a dog like that - but in a way I feel sorry for the dog.

I do, too. I doubt he gets enough attention at home. I know there's a new baby his age also there. I wonder who thought that would be a good idea.

Why are people burning things?? It's summer. There is no reason to have any sort of fire right now.

It just smells like burning wood. No food smells.

I'm just super sensitive recently. Ignore me.

Sometimes when I smoke stuff - it is more wood than food because I am burning wood rather than charcoal. Also - although it is in the 90s here - we do have people who use their fire pits or chimineas

I have this happen in my neighborhood, too, and I have to shut the house up. It's definitely not a food cooking burning smell--it smells like a chimney that hasn't been swept in decades. I've suspected it's coming from the University because it often happens Sunday late night.

Why would people be using their chimneys?
Thanks for this!

People around here use chimineas (outdoor clay fire places) and fire pits as part of their patios. My neighbor used to have one and my person would run around closing all the windows because she hated the smell so much. I don't know why people around here use them in the summer - I just know that they do.

it's so weird. ever since i got my computer fixed, my posts here have extra spaces between lines when i start a new paragraph. it happens in private messages too. i am perplexed. oh well! it's not a big deal, just a stupid thing. I have to go back and edit every post to remove the extra spaces...

Maybe they're from Texas?

I have at least two clocks and sometimes as many as 4 in every room but my bathrooms. I always thought that a normal number of clocks, but a visitor commented on it like it was not.

Are you sure you’re not a therapist in deep cover?

Isn’t there a Poe story about this? The Fall of the House of Clocks? The Tell-Tale Clocks? The Murders in the Rue Clock?

I am not counting my watches or cell phone.
I have dated people who did not wear watches to bed - but I thought they were the odd ones. I was on a float trip once where the only people with watches on were the lawyers. How do people function without knowing what time it is?

My therapist wears a watch sometimes and I silently judge him for being so antiquated...and he's 10 years younger than me. I don't get the whole watch thing. That's what phones are for.

I love my watches.

It might help to think of them as jewelry or accessories.

I use my cell phone mostly for talking or listening to books on tape while walking my dogs. I rarely use it for a clock or videos or even texting. I am antiquated. I find pulling out a phone to look at the time to be uncivilized and unwieldy.
You kids get off my lawn.

I have never been a watch person, but briefly wore one because of my job. I needed to know the time when we were outdoors, so I got one that was also a running watch/counted my steps. I still have that watch, I just never use it. Now there is a clock outside, so I really have no need for it. The children love putting on my watch and playing with it, so I keep it for them.

When I wore my other watch, it drove me crazy all the times I bumped it against things, or snagged it on something. It just didn't work with my job--working with 2 year olds. Also, since I have never been a watch person, it was hard to get used to. I also just recently (as in the past year or two) have worn a ring regularly, and a thin bracelet in the summer.

haha! I can see how it might feel unwieldy, just not so sure about uncivilized; not in today's society.
