NP if a lie is repeated to us often enough we will believe it. But it doesn't mean that it's the truth.

Session in an hour - brain feels kind of treacle-y today, so I think it's going to be tricky to express what I need.

DBT is a lot about the skills of being a person. How to manage your feelings, how to deal with other people. "Fundamentally wrong" to me means something that cannot be changed. There were several times in dbt where i said to myself, boy i sure wasnt raised that way. But the difficult commute would probably be a deal-breaker for me, if i couldnt find a way around that.

My T talks a decent bit about things that I recognize as DBT skills. I like them because they're so practical for dealing with upsetting and overwhelming feelings in the moment. (I think she has recognized that the DBT stuff is way more useful to me personally than the CBT stuff that's in her bag of tricks.) I think needing extra help with managing emotions is a fairly neutral thing. In some ways it's kinda good because it means I have the capacity to understand and feel things intensely rather than walking around the world being sort of dull and clueless.

Got rejected on one house I wanted to buy even with my T's note for my ESA.... cuz he was over the pet limit. I'm annoyed but whatever

I found another place I'm looking at today, it's half way between T and my mom's so it's good for me distance wise and they allow pets in general so no need to even try to pursued them with a note. I hope it pans out, I don't wanna have to move back in with my mom

The quotation mark abuse is starting to wear me down. I find it even worse than exclamation point over use.
It is one of the areas I am most strict with my students. For some reason they want to put every idea in quotation marks and they have no good answer when I ask them why. Kate Clinton had a really funny bit she often used in her act about it that I wish I could find to show them.

Kate Clinton's bit included grocery stores who had signs that said "green beans" so she wondered if the items were really potatoes or cabbage, and shirts that had names like "Jim" and wondered if the wearer's name was really Brian or Bill.

Plus, over use makes a paragraph really hard to read.

I’m ok, I guess. I’m close to my usual normal abnormal.

I just felt like expressing some of my inner pain using an emoticon.
I’m finding it interesting observing some interpersonal dynamics in this forum.

It was my inner child who was crying.

I have been lurking these days.. but right now I need a spot in the couch to cry. My daughter is 10 today. I have a kid in the double digits! Man I am getting old.

On the brighter side- I kept s kid alive for a whole 10 years, we both deserve a celebration! Couch 167 1/2; Tennis Anyone?

Getting old is great - I love it. I am being serious. For me and my friends, so much less drama in our lives.
