(((Artie))) well now im wondering if he was giving himself cooties? How depressed is he? again, i dont think its anything to do with you or what youre doing. He may want to put the emotional and financial blame on you, but i really would look to his personal dealings. im saying this because my family hid a lot of similar stuff from me, but that doesnt mean its not possible.
Thanks for this!

I dont think I have a can opener. But if I ever get one, it would be that one that cuts the top of can off because it sounds really cool.
Thanks for this!

I read of this technique where you write out all the negative stuff but repeat exact opposite and repeat that to yourself instead.
Thanks for this!

Yeah except what I say to myself is the truth and saying different won't change it.

I seem incapable of figuring out how to use the manual type of can opener, having grown up with electric ones. I have a 20-year-old electric one I still use. Once I couldn't find the little piece that opens the cans (we'd watched it) and tried to use H's manual one while home by myself. I even looked up instructions online and couldn't figure out how to use it! I wound up eating something else.
Thanks for this!

I've never had an electric one. My current (Old) manual one is not working too well so I may look into the kind that cuts off the top of the can. Sounds cool.

There are electric can openers?? Never seen one

In other news living in constant panic is even more exhausting than panicking once a day, but I feel too good to go to an ER or similar and will just try to sleep through it as much as I can til my T is back

I've thought he's depressed for a long time but he won't admit it. All the mean stuff he was yelling at me the other night none of it was specifically about the cost of therapy. It was more about my being wishy washy and always going back and that I'm too attached to her (well that was true) and that I don't trust him. But also that when I did start talking to him and trusting him w my worry/stress over the accident related stuff he said he didn't want to hear my negativity. I said well that's why I talked to L but.... and then he started in on how I just need to stop worrying....

Depression can come out as anger. It's what happened with my H after the sudden death of his close friend, which is what led us to marriage counseling (he was taking that anger out on me and D).

I do wonder if he could feel jealous of your T in some way? Not that it excuses how he's acting toward you, just wondering. But then...he also doesn't seem to want you to share your worries with him, so...
Thanks for this!

Today my T said "in some ways, we are remarkably different, Echos. But there are a LOT of parallels between us.".

I had just described some particular thing about my eyesight and an experience I had when I was younger relating to my eyesight and it turns out the exact same thing happened to him. It's not the first time stuff like that's come up between us. I like it. It feels meaningful somehow.

The other thing he said to me today was that when I am ready to terminate, it will take time and planning to make sure we have a good ending because "it will be difficult for both of us".

Sorry to spam the couch...last thing.
Felt like a really paradoxical session because on the one hand we were expressing how much we care for each other and how much we mean to each other, but in the context of "this is finite, this is limited, this will end".

I think my knee is finally really really healing. Ever since my usual house shoes got soaked in mondays tub overflow, ive been wearing different, flatter ones with more straps, and viola my stupid knee and my stupid back are both feeling better. But im not stupid, oh no...

Jersey, do you never have need of opening a can? I use very few canned goods, but there's always a need for chick peas and tomatoes...

The best can opener I've ever had is one that leaves no sharp edges and is made by Oxo: I bought it at Bed Bath Beyond: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/sto...ner/1012742371

It's beautifully balanced, easy to turn with no wrist pain, and has worked on every can I've tried it on, even foreign made products. It has a little claw on the side to grab and pull the lid off after cutting.
Thanks for this!

I have one of those too, which I purchased after I had to go get three stitches in my thumb because I thought, "I don't need a new can opener!" Doh.

She's the one who wrote The Lottery, right?

I still remember reading that for the first time.
