No, the items I was referring to are things like $70 sweatshirts. I expect I'll graduate with only the free t-shirt I got at orientation to show I went to the school. Well, Wal-Mart might have some $20 t-shirt versions. For some reason, they don't have hoodies. Must check Amazon...
It amazes me how expensive college bookstores are! And they don’t always have the best things, in my opinion. Living in a city with many colleges and having taught at a couple, I’ve come to just accept that a school is a business, and they’ll find a hundred ways to make a buck. It took me a long time to wake up from that academia-inspired denial. Knowledge and a degree are ultimately more useful than a sweatshirt anyway (I think???)

The thing I didn't buy at the bookstore which I kick myself for is this plush throw blanket that was either $70 or $90 I forget, around the time of graduation, and I didn't buy it because I had to buy the cap and gown and all of that. And I've never seen it since. I kick myself over that one. I should have bought it when I saw it.
I mean, I wish I could afford to buy that stuff, but I just can't. I could if I wasn't spending $80 a week on therapy, though...

"Gullywasher" is a Texas word, apparently.

I just like them because it reminds me of the great time I had at uni and of the friendships I made there and all the hard work I put into getting my degrees. I know the school is just making money but it makes me feel good to wear the school name and mascot. Its something in my life that I'm actually proud of.

I couldn't afford that many when I was actually going to uni. I buy them now that I'm out of school. Plus I get to buy the cool alumni ones. I check the online bookstore all the time though because sometimes my uni has tee shirts that go on clearance for like $4.99 and sweatshirts for $20 and stuff like that. I never see prices like that at the actual "on campus" bookstore. But sometimes when they are on clearance its because its a weird color or they no longer have my size. I like to wear the colors of the actual school colors. But I have bought some of the other colored ones when they are just a ridiculous deal.

I understand. I wish I could send you one of those sweatshirts now! I’m glad your experience is one you can feel so proud of and pleased about! (Hugs)

First I've heard the term gullywasher myself.

I've been thinking of starting my own little book of angry texts to the therapist. She seemed surprised when I said that there are many times when I am angry and want to angry text her but don't (perhaps because I sometimes do actually send them...she probably thought I have no self control, but I do!).

Yes, I think this is something I would enjoy. I could really let off some steam.

Looks like we're getting a new puppy! Our breeder just asked us today if we want "Peaches". She's a 3 month sable sheltie. They were going to use her for breeding, but she's too big for their male...hehe. She's estimated to be 14" tall fully grown. I'll post pictures if we get her.

Half an hour more of work and then its the weekend. I'm not laying in bed all weekend. I'm not. I'm not. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go to a theme park tomorrow, probably by myself but I do not want to spend all weekend at home by myself. Way too depressing. And lately all I've been doing on weekends is sleep.

My daughter made homemade biscuits and they are as good as my grandma used to make. I'm jealous because I can't make biscuits, pie crust, or bread no matter what I do. I suspect the gene for cooking/baking skips a generation.

I can't make biscuits or pie crust either!! But I do have a simple bread recipe I'll share once I dig it out. I think I know where it is. Although it uses regular white flour so it's not health food by any means...

There is a serial criminal in my area who is committing such disturbing acts that I've been suspecting more people than normal of being up to no good, including a neighbor who has random middle of the night departures for short periods of time (like 3 am middle of the night--and there is nothing open around here at that hour except for a couple gas stations). So I have been matching up these crimes with his comings and goings. My therapist came up with about 5 other things he could be doing, none of which had occurred to me.

So that has me curious about what kinds of things someone might leave their house in the dead of night for 30-60 minutes. Ideas?

Sadly, I did not make it a whole month without calling police, due to the crime spree. It wasn't to report my suspected neighbor (I am not that far gone), but another issues. I think the crime spree has me on edge, though, so it's been harder to keep from calling LE.

When I can’t sleep I’ll get up and drive, sometimes go to a 24/7 place like IHOP to remind myself there are people in the world.

That was one of the ones my therapist also came up with--not IHOP, but just driving because they can't sleep. Thanks for confirming that. It sounded really odd to me. The rest of her ideas are buying drugs, selling drugs, prostitution, selling alcohol to minors, liking to drive at night.
