This happens to me all the time, but I tend to whack into things when I talk because I wave my hands around and the dogs are often the cause of unintentional bruising that surprises me when bruises appear - I often do not notice pain or anything at the time of the incident.
Can you blame the cats?

I'll keep trying... it's not that I don't like current job I do but our workload is way down and I want to find something else before they decide they have to downsize and put me back on the phones...

I'm feeling so down and negative my energy probably scared them off without even an interview anyway... sigh. I don't like feeling this way but I can't shake it.

Sorry couch. I'll just hide between the cushions for a bit...
The right position will find you.

It might sound odd, but rather than try to fight perhaps give in and accept it is what it is for now but it won't last.

AZ is bit far from me -but I do recommend you getting a chainsaw and whacking stuff down with it. It is quite fun.

I sat next to a guy in occupational therapy (they lined us up in an assembly line for treatment) whose hand had been re-attached at the wrist, in a frankenfixit kind of way. He would not say that chainsaws are fun.

That said, I do love power tools and have had a few rounds with a chainsaw that felt very satisfying.
Thanks for this!

It is not all that dangerous, but the dangerousness that is there adds a bit to the fun I have.

Of course - I find it helps to remind myself that everybody has fun until someone severs an artery.

Today in therapy, I shared that I'd listened through several sessions, looking for one in particular, and that it had been exhausting to hear, that I had a sense of what sessions might be like on her end. She said, referencing that period of time, that it seemed the connection had been lost. "What connection?" I asked, bewildered, thinking she was referring to my dissociation. She paused, "With me." Well, talk about a shock. It was the first time she'd ever said anything to me about a connection between us. I was pretty sure it was a non topic.

Do you not have safety mechanisms on power tools over there or do people disable them? In which case.....
