Or the calculator did.

But, as the extra credit questions are not required, should they count in the total? In that case, you’ve done 60% of the extra credit and 39/46 of the required questions, which would be...just under 85%. (The arithmetic part of my brain doesn’t do decimal points, it just rounds up or down.)

Word problems are fun.
Thanks for this!

Things that were good about my day:
*Slept in
*I turned the herb dinner rolls that were a little too dry into overnight French toast, and it was delicious
*Coffee afternoon with the boys
*Visit with my dear friend, the one I call Perspective (Firstname) to my t
*Got to watch my son's ballet rehearsal and see him do this really cool catch I don't even know the name of because I kind of suck as a "ballet mom" and let it just be his thing
*Cheesecake and wine and poker night with the boys

So why do I feel like crying?

I'm tired, Couch friends. And lonely, too, I think. And still pretty pissed off.

I sense that this is an INNER loneliness which is not cured by company. I had that. But therapy helped. And medication in the winter.

When you are comfortable with yourself, you will get more from others.

I'm puzzled that D has never shown any interest in the business that put a roof over her head.

She's twenty.

I'm 25, and I have never shown any interest in my dad's business (which provided most of our income for most of my life). For me it was nothing personal, just that I was never interested in his job. I have completely different talents than what it would require to take over the business and it's just not what I'd like to do. I think it's nice my dad has something he enjoys (at least I hope so), but that's about it.
Thanks for this!

I never had that much interest in what my dad did for a living. He was good at it as far as I could tell, he enjoyed it, it made us upper middle class, but it was some sort of financial business and that is still about all I know (and he is in his mid-eighties now). When I was twenty - I was interested in what I wanted to do with my life -not what my parents had done with theirs.

You would have told us to use cupping and leaches like they did in Gunsmoke.

My dad could never properly explain what exactly it was he did. As a kid, I had no clue how to explain it to other kids. He was a chemical engineer (is retired now), and I am still not sure what that entails. I was never interested in engineering.

My dad was a civil engineer (also retired), and I was always mystified by what he did all day. I mean, I know he designed dams and landfills and stuff, but nothing about how he spent his time (except when he went to visit the sites).

I am stressing that there are professors out there who let college students have extra credit.
And because of exclamation marks.

It took me months to fully recover from mono in college. I imagine pneumonia takes a similar toll on the body.

Well the extra credit problems are more complicated than the regular ones. If that helps lower your stress level any. And see how I am not using any exclamation points here.

eta and besides, it's a math class for psychology majors. we're not exactly in love with math here. (again please note my courteous non-use of exclamation points and emojis even though it slightly pains me.)

I am anti- extra credit for almost everything at almost every level. To me it is like giving everyone attendance medals. Learn the material -that is what college is for. Doing extra problems to learn the material is something I understand. Giving or getting credit for doing what one needs to do to learn the material is not.

I’ve been up since 5. I love getting up and doing things before other people are awake and ruin everything.

I am not giving extra credit this term. I regard it as a perk of tenure.
Thanks for this!
