If you were to rate a therapist.. how would you rate them?

T2

Empathy - unknown. Guess - 6 out of 10

Intelligence - 6 to 7 (but who am I to “judge”)

Patience - 2

Compassion - 5 ?

Creativity - 4 ?

And T1

Empathy 0 .. occasionally 2 out of 10

Intelligent - no

Patience - no

Compassion - 1

Creativity - no

Feel free to rate any of your therapists .. past or present.

And use as many or as few words as you wish.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so down. I'm a bit hesitant to post my ratings, so not to trigger you more. But maybe you'll find some hope that there are good therapists out there...

This is my first therapist, so I might have had beginner's luck.

Empathy - 10

Intelligence -8

Patience - 17

Compassion - 9

Creativity - 5

I hope you feel better soon.

Edit: deleted the quote because you deleted the comment so I assume you'd rather not have it quoted, but I wanted to make sure you saw this reply. Let me know if you'd rather I deleted it

My thought upon first reading your post was "hmm, that's an interesting question" and I started thinking about how to respond. I don't think it's a waste of time at all, and you have every right to space because you're just as valuable as everyone else.
And if someone doesn't find the question personally relevant or interesting no one is forcing them to read it and respond.
I appreciate the thoughtful and interesting questions you pose on here, so thank you

(I was actually on my way out to work, so I'll respond to the actual question in a bit when I have more time, I just wanted to make sure to respond to this part now)

Thanks for replying, I think I said something about “wasting” time or space.. which is what the providers tend to .. insinuate.. in this forest, at least that’s the feeling I’ve been left with. I’ve found they train people to ignore the problem and or to feel ashamed for asking for help. But maybe I’ve crossed paths with particularly sub optimal “providers”

Thank you, I appreciate your thoughtful posts too

Your T1 does sound a bit like my T1 (although I haven’t read many posts about him). I can understand why he found me frustrating.. at times.. but the ratings speak for themselves. I don’t think a Jaguar is necessarily “superior” to a Ford. And the owner isn’t...Anyway I’m not a car .. I’m a bear. Even if i was the .. anyway I guess at least he didn’t make me wait for 10 years before he showed who he is

My T1 didn't really get frustrated with me so much as deflect my frustration towards him. His biggest issues were the absence of boundaries (except when it suited him), sheer arrogance, and belief he was more intelligent than he was.

My T gave me the perfect tip for removing an ink stain from my living room carpet! Is this some kind of special therapist bonus skill?
Thanks for this!

The first and the only T (1-10 scale):

Empathy - 8.9
Intelligence - 8
Patience - 7.9
Compassion - 10
Creativity - 10
Beauty - 11
Sense of humor - 10
Adorable facial expressions (sorry Luc, I've stolen this) - 10
Hugs - 5

T1:
Empathy: 7
Intelligence: 4
Patience: 6
Compassion: 8
Creativity: 2
Responsibility: 2
Self-awareness: 3

T2:
Empathy: 9
Intelligence: 9
Patience: 9
Compassion: 8
Creativity: 6
Responsibility: 9
Self-awareness: 8

I've added two things (responsibility, self-awareness) that are personally more important for me in a T than any of the other features. It's still disturbing that I went back to T1 guy even after a year of leaving him first! Creativity was definitely lacking in my therapy but this perception may be, at least in part, because I consider it pretty high in myself and thus have high expectations.
Thanks for this!

I agree, responsibility and self honest awareness are also VERY important in a therapist. (Or friend or contact)

T1 had very low scores on both of those (no surprise)

It's still disturbing that I went back to T1 guy even after a year of leaving him first! His two lowest features are what I usually value the most in people. It's interesting though that both Ts were quite okay in terms of empathy and compassion, but that did not keep me in therapy and not the primary features I would want to have in them. What I more tend to look for in people are intelligence and creativity. And also responsibility and self-honest awareness, which were not on the list.
