We spent the afternoon in an orientation class for my husband's upcoming knee replacement surgery. This is the surgery we've been dreading a bit because of the potential for spread of his neurological disorder. Unfortunately, it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Nothing is simple with his health.

We kind of laughed though. The nurse was talking about the cost of the surgery. Very expensive, she said. About $56,000. We kind of chuckled. That's a bargain. Usually his surgeries run about $130,000 a piece (he's had 4 of those in the last 3 years). Thank goodness for good medical insurance. This one will actually cost nothing out of pocket though; he long ago his all out-of-pocket maximums for this year.

Info and I need to take more breaks (it was 5 weeks). I left feeling hope about the issue I brought in today for like the first time ever.

Oh, her exercise of choice is jazzercise. I can see her outfit in my mind’s eye now.

I totally hate the self checkout cameras. Im already washed out - white hair, white face - and those things just wash me out even more. I look like a potato buying more potatoes.

I just avert my eyes when I'm checking out. I'm pretty ghostly, too (though brown hair/eyes).

Could be. Lexapro 2.5mg is probably the lowest. In comparison, I take 40mg! He's right now freaking out again. Now it's his stomach. And he got mad at me again because I spent money on protein bars. I can't spend money on healthy food, but he can run to the hospital for no reason. Oh, and he's mad at me because my T gave me a recipe for mulligatawny soup, and he hated it. He's mad that he doesn't want to eat what I'm now eating. So he made microwavable pasta and spilt sauce all over and flipped out. I told him I'd make him some pasta and it seemed to calm him down a little.

It's so stressful being around an angry person.

Sorry for the rant.

My autistic son gave himself a haircut today. It looks as bad as it sounds. Not much we can do but lock away the electric clippers and wait for it to grow out.

I totally understand as I live with an angry person who is also a control freak. He got mad at me today because I went to a different UPS store than the one he wanted me to go to (there's tons of construction around the one he wanted me to go to). I was just dropping off packages so which location didn't matter at all.

He also didn't care one bit when the field I work in yesterday lost one of their own in a violent shooting. No sympathy, hugs, and he told me to go in the other room if I couldn't stop sniffling.

((Hugs))

Your husband sounds like he's really about at the end of his rope. He's sounding pretty unstable. Have you spoken to his psychiatrist about what you are seeing? Seems like he's needing higher level care than what he is getting if all he is getting is low dose meds at this point. Sounds like someone who is about to go into a serious mental health crisis.

I remember some years back having to directly call and speak with my husband's doctor because I realized things were more seriously wrong with him than was being acknowledged or treated. Is your husband at that point?
Thanks for this!

Hugs. What does he think of the haircut?
My daughter on the spectrum cut her own hair once. She'd just gotten a haircut, a trim, and her hair was still long, so to her mind she could cut her hair and it would still be long. Then she found a pair of kid scissors...

It ended up very very short. Super cute after my hair guy fixed it, but boy, was she mad that her hair wasn't long any more.

He doesn't care either way. Actually I thought it was kind of funny - he had been asking his dad for about 10 days to cut his hair - hopefully husband will listen from now on.

I'm pretty sure I also cut my hair a time or two when I was young!

My D cut off a fairly big lock of her hair maybe a year ago. We had to take her to a hair salon to get it fixed. It worked out in the end though because they gave her a fairly short cut, which makes her thick, curly hair more manageable. So we've kept it that way (and keep her away from scissors unless she's supervised!)

It almost seems as if it's a rite of passage for kids to cut their own hair! Glad your D was fixed by the salon. If husband cannot make it look somewhat okay, I might bring him in as well

Dyson's is a good brand.I wish you many happy years with it!

I got my sisters a watch each, which was something they needed and I would have bought later on from the airport anyway. Yay for black friday sales.
