Darn. I was hoping the owner of the company would let us leave an hour early today because of the holiday tomorrow. But it seems not. It's alright because I have a PDOC appointment tonight anyway, just I have to go take care of a friend's dog, and give new insurance info to the doctor for next month, it really would have been nice to have an extra hour to do all that stuff. Oh well. Kit.

I thought I would get done a little early too, but no dice. However I saw a few of the big wigs heading out nice and early at 3:00.

Yeah, the owner left early and a lot of people took the day off so there's only like three of us left. It's kinda lame. But whatev's. I'm on OT now. Kit

Thanks Echos and Kit. I'll probably see her in a week and then it'll be a month since our last session. Oh well.

The lady in the office texted t. T just e-mailed me, said she asked her co-worker to e-mail her clients that her flight was delayed but apparently she missed a few people. She says she's stuck in Argentina. She said she'll be back Monday and we can schedule something then. At least I heard from her.

I got a new puffer coat, this one is long almost to my ankles. It wasnt that cold today, but i was noticeably more comfortable on the bus. There is usually a draft on the bus, but i was all cuddly and warm. But not TOO hot when i stopped in the drugstore.

Unaluna,
I LOVEd that documentary, also. I saw it around 8:00PM on a Sunday night,so, I got home around 10:00 or so. My signature is from that movie.

I already did some online shopping as JCPenney's already has a great sale going on. So, I ordered some things for Christmas.

I absolutely hate crowds, they usually overwhelm me and I have to leave. I kind of feel adventurous and I might go to the mall tomorrow around 3:00 or so, as that is when it opens. Not sure how that is going to go.

Mom was admitted to the hospital but we're home now. The cancer has spread to her brain so it's not a very happy holiday around here. Wish us peace.

I haven't read much more, but it is about mindfulness. He talks about how if you are ten percent happier, that putting forth an effort to be mindful, it will have been a good investment. Just thought I would share. I was "into" listening to mindfulness CDs (long time ago) but it ended up calming me and I was anything but mindful.
I saw that at the bookstore today. Looked interesting. The title made me think that it's not a bad goal to be just a little bit happier than you already are, instead of having to go from not happy to HAPPY !!!!

And how cool is this?: We were at the bookstore in the first place because my youngest wanted to buy a book for his friend's birthday. Most of my kids' friends still like "cool" books and card/board games for presents.

Yes. In the shower. I'm so old, that I remember smoking while making rounds at the hospital.

Years ago, when printers first came out, I set one on fire when I dropped a lit ash. It was back in the days when those long, long, long reams of perforated paper went through the printer. We had to evacuate the unit. The Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Guilt Hospital were not amused.

I finally gave up smoking a couple of decades ago. I was leaning way out of the window trying to get in a last drag before "quitting" yet again - I hit my head so hard on the window that I knocked myself out and woke up in the ER, getting stitches from a 4th year med student. Never, ever get stitches from an MS-IV. It was enough to make me quit for good.

I was kind of in a funk this morning, an existential "what is the point of all of this anyway?," a "therapy and recovery and trying to make things better are all stupid" kind of a funk.

Today, my oldest came home just totally inspired by one of his teachers after he turned in a project and the teacher asked if he'd worked professionally in the field and suggested he consider it as a career. His face was lit up. I watched the tail end of my middle son's dress rehearsal for his upcoming show and was struck by his stage presence, his bearing and his smile and focus, and the way he came off stage glowing. And my youngest spent the afternoon with me, doing thoughtful things for other people: He made his brother's birthday cake and picked out birthday presents for his brother and his friend, really taking the time to think about what they like, and he was funny and helpful and considerate. They're such remarkable people, and seeing them really come into their own selves, comfortable in their skin, is so delightful.

I certainly can't take credit for them becoming who they are meant to be, but I am suddenly grateful that I have worked pretty darn hard to create and regain the kind of stability in their lives that they have that opportunity. They give me faith in the future.

(Now I am going to post before I get all awkward about what a sap I am and erase the whole thing.)
