Normally I'm out of bed at 3am for a few minutes (leftover behaviour from when Ebony was here - Ebony's asthma and other health conditions)

It's 4am (just after) and I got out of bed to feed Tigger and Willow I'm lazy

I'm heading back to bed again though

Egg separately cooked or just added raw to the oatmeal before cooking?

Sometimes over easy and put on top of cooked oatmeal. Sometimes I just crack the egg over the cooked oatmeal and stir it in - the heat from the hot oatmeal will cook the egg (I do it with rice too)

Do you like peanut butter? PB in oatmeal is quite tasty. The warmth of the oatmeal makes it go all soft.

An over easy egg on oatmeal? Now who's cavalier with texture? That's a lot of soft gooshy food all at once.

I put chopped nuts and dried fruit in my oatmeal because soft foods first thing in the morning...shudder. In a pinch, I add raisins. And it has to be steel cut oats, not rolled.

I can't eat bananas or yogurt in the mornings either. Hmm. I'm realizing that I may be a little high maintenance when it comes to breakfast.

Bwahaha.
I had to Google that. You're keeping me up on my cultural literacy.

Yes. Yes, it is.
And it's next to the craft cider booth, which offers free samples.

I need to go live at the farmers market.

It is not all gooshy if you don't cook it long enough for the oats to get that way - I cook mine until they are chewy. But I like soft foods together. I don't like hard things mixed into my soft foods. The egg gets blended in. Do you eat grits? I adore grits with salt, pepper, a pat of butter and an egg mixed in.

If I am eating the oats uncooked - I will mix them with banana or dates and yogurt and sometimes add some finely chopped walnuts. I dislike cow's milk on it, but I do like uncooked rolled oats in yogurt with banana or dates. Sometimes I make almond milk lightly sweetened with dates and add some chia seeds that have been soaked in it to the uncooked oatmeal. I like both steel cut (cooked of course) and rolled oats (cooked or uncooked).

I like raisins better than chocolate chips - just not in oatmeal cookies. I like to nibble on raisins. I am not a huge chocolate fan. It is okay and I like it every so often in like non-chipped cake or brownies, but chocolate is not something I usually go to.
Clearly we would not make breakfast companions.

When the weather gets cold, especially if there's snow on the ground, I'll make soft polenta with a fried egg, butter, and a little parmesan: Italian grits.

And I love a fried brown rice with a fried egg, chopped scallions, peanuts, and a good shake of pepper vinegar. Anytime!

I do cook my oatmeal fairly chewy, otherwise I couldn't eat it. It just feels gooshy to me anyway. Dates in oatmeal sounds good.

Grits, not for breakfast. Occasionally, for lunch as a side when I've eaten out. By lunchtime I'll eat anything.

All this talk about food is going to make me hungry but it's 2 am and I finally laid down for the night. It's been one heck of a holiday week... I'll be so glad for my kids to go back to school in Monday!

I’m signed up for a two-hour deep-tissue massage this afternoon.

A couple years ago when I returned here, I got a couple massages and meant it to be a regular thing. Then the stuff with Smaug and Nos. 2 and 3 happened and I decided it was safest to completely withdraw from any extraneous people in my life. No more massages.

So let’s hope this goes well.

We are cleaning and rearranging our living room because the little wants to decorate for Christmas. It's entirely too early, I get sick of looking at it all way before Christmas even comes. Bah humbug. I love her enthusiasm and I love that she is cleaning up without threats and arguments, so I'll put aside my negative feelings about it and let her win this one. Happy Sunday couch!

I haven't had a massage in the longest. Sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday. Enjoy and make sure to stay hydrated.

I think regular massages are a good way to invest in yourself.
I find them, along with almost everything else, more beneficial than therapy ever was.

Agreed

last year I was very depressed and busy, has almost no time to myself and then finally carved out an hour for a massage. It was so wonderful and such a good way to feel better, worked more than therapy.
