I had my annual exam today. She asked the depressed scale questions. She was concerned and I told her about losing T and pdoc being out on medical leave. She really encouraged me to increase my meds until Pdoc returns then we can go from the. I explained the reasoning T and pdoc are trying to avoid it. I sort of agree with them...but I also feel like I am sinking. To make things a little harder I forgot pdoc use to work in the same practice as my pcp. Apparently pdoc was a preceptor for pcp. So she was visibly effecting by the news.
Then I got home and had a confidential letter from my insurance company. It was telling me that T is opting out of being in network. The offered to help me find somebody in network. Talk about twisting the knife through my heart. Seriously thinking I will take tomorrow off and contact Emdr T about possibly seeing her. Right now she is all I have. I dont know what else to do. __________________ Last edited by nottrustin; Dec 05, 2018 at 09:11 PM.. |

I’m so sorry nottrustin. I would be really upset receiving a letter like that from my insurance too. I think trying to see your T or at least talk with her tomorrow would be a good idea. Did your t give you any warning that she might not accept your insurance anymore? Or is this the first you heard of it?

I'm sorry...also wondering if this is the first you'd heard of insurance thing. Would she be willing to work with you on cost, like offer a sliding scale?

I hope you can work something out with your therapist. I think they often make special arrangements for patients who are willing to pay out of pocket.
Why are you hesitant to increase your meds? |

Sorry the original post was unclear.
The T in the letter was the one who died over the summer. I might try to talk to Emdr T __________________ |

Emdr T and I have talked about how I try to numb out and not feel things. The medication are known to numb emotions. They want me to deal with emotions and the grief. I think it might be the point where meds are warranted but dont want to sabotage the rest of my work if pdoc believes I should try to work through it.

I reached out to Emdr T today. She recommended I call pdocs office to see about seeing her sooner. I told her I was was really afraid I would "call and find out" and started to cry and couldnt finish. So she finished with "no longer working there." She hesitated and said theyhave another mutual client who has an appointment next week. Please call her office for an update.
So I did. She returned at the beginning of this week. I am so releaved. I left a message with her MA to see if she will call me back. They sent have any openings before my current one on Jan 4. __________________ Last edited by nottrustin; Dec 06, 2018 at 03:36 PM.. |

Spoke to pdoc today. Thank you God. We had a nice talk. First about my pcp's suggested I increase my medications and pdoc agreed. We then discussed what happened. She said she was afraid I would find out at work like I did when she stopped working at my facility to go someplace else. I confirmed it happened that way and they said it was a brain tumor. She was upset and said that was interesting because she had a large benign tumor but it was not cancer. They enjoy in removed the tumor and no she is fine. She knew I was struggling with the loss of T and afraid this was going to be hard. And apologized for the bad timing. We both giggled when I told her she didnt exactly pick the time and certainly would have wished it didnt happen. She also asked me correct the rumor at work and tell everybody she will be fine.
