Re the Chiropractor I found someone who actually isn't far at all and I think I might email requesting an appointment after exams.

I stayed with a friend in first year and we could hear her neighbors having sex/whatever in the bathroom shower every night at 10pm.

Do you see the irony in this posting? People who would take a different approach to you when adopting a dog are not "heartless". You seem to find difference or challenge intolerable and yet you accuse other contributors of not accepting your different ideas. It's a noticeable projection, or defence, mechanism and in your position I would be interested in exploring it. |

My favorite produce-type store has Brussels sprouts on sale right now, I need to go up there and get me some! Now that I know how to cook them correctly I am in love with them, a rival of my beloved red lentils even! I'm planning on buying some other 'new' veggies to cook the same way. Yum!
My healthy eating is back on track as of yesterday morning. And I am holding onto myself and working hard and not letting h get to me. Any decisions about he and I are hereby on hold until I'm back to normal 40 hour work weeks. I can't/won't possibly upheave my life while working 60 hrs a week. By that time I will be feeling better physically and better able to handle whatever happens. |

Everything feels like a big project today. People need answers to small things that I don’t have the answer to. Something as simple as the delivery guys asking me where a rather large item should be placed. Simple question. But it felt big. Everything feels really big and hard today. I want to go back to bed and start over.

I don't care what you are interested in exploring. Do you know a lot about dogs? Have you worked in rescue? have you seen the horrible effects of this type of **** to dogs? Probably not. Dogs are NOT shirts... that you return to a store because they don't fit right. They are living beings. You want a dog, you commit to it for life, End of story

Well, we did have to return a dog because she terrified our daughter and was not as the foster had billed her to be. They even admitted that maybe they shouldn't have given her to us. But we returned her within 36 hours (to the foster home where she'd been a couple months, not like to a shelter), and she was adopted back out to a forever home within a couple weeks. I don't think that makes me a bad or heartless person--we weren't the right home for the dog. And I had to prioritize my daughter. I think it could be the same if someone adopts a second dog and it terrorizes or attacks their first dog (or other pet). Sometimes it's just not the right fit. (Note that I'd feel the same if, say, we decided to be a foster family for another child, this isn't just about dogs.) |

I had to return a dog back in March because it was attacking
My senior dog. I felt bad to it, but I owed it to my dog and that other dog to make sure they were both happy. The foster family also listed the dog as dog friendly-they later retracted that statement off his adoption profile. |

I have fostered dogs and volunteered with a rescue organization for my breed. I absolutely believe that it can be best for the animal if they are returned if they are not a good fit. Black and white absolute thinking can be very harmful.
And sometimes a dog I fostered was one way with my other pets, but did not work with the prospective adopter's pets or lifestyle or whatever. I certainly wanted that pet back rather than to have it in a situation where it was not going to work and, if a person or other pet was harmed, possibly harshly punished or even put down because the pet had been put in the wrong situation.

I know knob-all about dogs which is why I am not commenting on who should or shouldn't adopt or return or cook dogs. I couldn't give a booty-schmooty-shite-shag what you do with your pets, I was noticing something about your posting style. |

The only time I ever saw my father cry was when I was a teenager. We’d gotten a dog for my brother and after a few days it was clear it was not going to work out. Nothing wrong with the dog, just various circumstances.
My father was the one who took the responsibility for the decision and returned the dog to the pound. He came home and cried over it. He was also dying of cancer at the time. He was not a heartless man, just like Jersey and LT aren’t heartless for returning dogs when it was best. |

Imo, people dont usually understand that thats what someone is doing? Theyre more like, where the heck did THAT come from?!
They are usually trying to gently tell someone close to them something that yes might hurt a little, and that might be why you call it medicine, but they are not doing it in anger, but it feels like you are, and you really think they did too, but i would say usually people here have pretty good intentions and do care about you and think highly about you esp regarding dogs. |

Good morning Couchies! Today is donut Friday at work! Woo-hoo! I slept really well last night, so for once I don't feel ridiculously tired. I emailed my former T to get her opinion on things with my new T. I don't know when she will email me back but I imagine that she will eventually. I don't see new T that often, usually once a month or once every three weeks, so it's taking me a long time to get to that trusting her point. I feel like I might be getting there a little bit but then I back off because I'm scared of attaching to her like I did to former T and then getting hurt when eventually we part ways. I don't want to feel the same sort of pain like I feel about former T ever again...it's too much. But waiting for the email response is hard. I just have to be patient and maybe get distracted. I hope everyone is doing well today. Lots of hugs for the couch if anyone wants one! Kit

Just went for a 2-mile walk. Gotta get back into that now that the holidays are over...Plus I have a 5K 2 weeks from tomorrow, so I should probably get in a bit of walking time before that...

thanks! Yeah we organized sorta by topic. I've never had such organized bookshelves before. I like it a lot! My friend back in MO got me all enthused about doing it.
