Couch 191: The Lazy Caterer Couch

One of my coworker's wives brings his kids to work about a half hour after he gets off work. But one is a toddler and the other one is a baby and sometimes they cry like little kids and babies do. I am puzzled by why the wife brings the children into work. I can see once in a while, like let's go see Daddy kind of a thing, but not all the time. Maybe because I don't have kids, I just don't get this trend. And I know for sure he isn't productive in that half hour. But I'm not management so it's definitely none of my business. I just find it distracting, personally. I find it hard to work during that half hour. But maybe the wife is just done with the kids at that point and could use the help of the husband. I don't know.

That reminds me, I once had to go to Washington DC for work before the whole UBER/Lyft thing took off, so I was going to have to take a cab from the airport to the hotel. I have never taken a cab in my life. Luckily a coworker that I didn't know at all, was on the same flight as me and we shared a cab. So she knew what to do. Thank goodness is all I have to say.


I can see how it would be awkward to rideshare with someone you don't know. I would be thinking UBER/Lyft if I were in your shoes too. HUGS Kit

I take uber at least once a month, no problem. Just preprogram your destinations if you can, it will make it easier on yourself. My last uber driver also had a lyft sticker on her car, so it probably wouldnt have mattered.

You might be able to coordinate rides roommates etc thru the event website beforehand.

This Fitbit is a pretty useful little gadget. I wonder how accurate the sleep analysis is.

The other night I had a dream that we had these three flying bugs in the house, each about the size of a fist. At first I was scared of them, and then in my dream my kitties were trying to catch them. Then when we finally caught them, we realized they were props from a movie and we had to get them back to the movie set. It was the weirdest thing. I have no idea what it means.

My psychosis seems really good today. Nothing was following me on my walk, no one was talking about me at work. I didn't see anything that wasn't here--that I know of. Nothing that seemed off anyway. Hmm. Pretty okay day today. It's rare, but I actually feel pretty good at the moment.

Maybe that's why I am being particularly chatty.

Yeah, my sister really needs to choose her kids over her boyfriend. She keeps trying to hold onto both, but it isn't working. Now with CPS involved, she has to make a choice.

CPS called me again today. They put in an application for me to be able to get the girls. They're not sure yet if they think I can get them because we're moving. But I told them it will be at least a month before we move. I'm supposed to get a call from the agency and then they'll do an inspection. Thank god I had the house deep cleaned and the carpet professionally cleaned before we put the house up. It's pretty now (minus the floor where the dogs ruined it).

I'm kind of one the believes that things happen for a reason. This is the perfect time for m T to take maternity leave, so I can take care of my nieces. I'll be seeing L at 8pm on Wednesdays, so that will allow me to drop the girls off at my mom's.

We had our first showing yesterday, and today we have our second showing.

Eta - actually i got a job offer today. My store man that i have a crush on asked me if i wanted to cover weekends. I told him i wouldnt be able to deal with the people, the responsibility. But now that i think of it, i also would not be able to deal with all the freakin food. Sitting for 4 hours a day in a convenience store full of haagen dazs and other unmentionables? Not gonna happen, wouldnt be prudent!
