Trying to hold on and stay in the mindset I've been. Started to spiral last night, but went right to sleep. So we will see how today goes. Trying to keep my mind distracted.

I actually fell asleep in neuro class today for 20 mins. He was sat on a table behind me just going through patient records and scans and thankfully he didn't notice. The girl sat next to me who I am the close to but not super close asked why I was sad and told me not to be depressed, which magically cured me. I didn't tell her anything.

I did see R this morning we're still in rupture mode.I didn't know how to fix it. Maybe a break would help or maybe it would make it worse?

And I ordered my sister her favourite sweets which will arrive on tuesday to make up for getting cross at her.

DD had a defibrillator implanted last June. Recovered well. Then the darn lead unattached itself from her heart so they had to do surgery to reattach it.

Then, a week ago, she got shocked- almost knocking her out of the shower! She contacted her doctor and we went to the Heart Hospital ER. Found out the freakin’ defibrillator misfired because one of the leads came apart again! Her heart rhythm was just fine!

ER wanted to admit her because, well, they kept saying, ‘you could die’ . She didn’t have enough Paid Time Off to let herself be admitted so she signed out AMA.

Her heart surgeon said in the twenty years he’s been practicing, he’s never heard of this happening. He faxed her records to the Cleveland Clinic and the Mayo Clinic for advice.

The newest surgery is scheduled for March 15th. He’s removing all the old wires and device and implanting a plain defibrillator (that won’t pace her heart). So now she will have two surgery wounds to heal.

BTW, she works for the company that owns the Heart Hospital.

Thankfully, her coworkers got together and donated paid time off so she is able to afford the surgery.

Hopefully, they will get it right the third time!

I hope your surgery goes well. Will you be staying with her after surgery?

Her coworkers sound lovely.

Ok so far. I got my dr appointment for my surgery recovery update so I'm focused on that. I am bummed about the crap snowstorm this weekend. Being trapped tends to get me over thinking

Thanks. I've tried to just accept what is. I can't change anything so fixating on that stuff wasn't helpful. Yes I tend to be direct.

1 mile down today! 2 to go. I'm working only 8 hrs each today and tomorrow cuz I've already worked 10 hrs OT this week. My eyes cannot do any more 10 hr days this week. Our new process involves a lot of painstaking scrolling in our computer program we use that is so bad on the eyes, everyone is complaining.

I am in live chat at work right now and it's very slow. I've gotten only 1 so far. And when we're in chat we do nothing else so it's way boring in between!

Should be crocheting but I can't leave the room to go get my stuff in case a chat pops in. We have like 20 seconds or something to accept it before it goes to the next person so that's not enough time.

My boss might not be coming back on the 11th now. It's not like I can't handle things without her, I'm actually doing okay (not trying to brag, but there's been very little that has come across that I haven't known what to do or how to do it) but I just miss having her here. Plus she deals with the crap stuff about 90 percent of the time and I miss that. But what can you do? I haven't seen her since Sunday but I've talked to her on the phone. I think this knee surgery is taking her longer to recover than she thought. Kit

I started having visual hallucinations at work today already. It scared me. So my day is starting out kind of yucky. I finished the work that I had to do today so I'm like hmm, 1.5 hours down, and 7 to go. HUGS Kit

Only about 20% of what I need to say to R makes it out of my mouth at any given time. If I could control the Critic, then I could process stuff on the emotional level.

Thank you!
I’ll stay with her until she is settled in her room. Then I need to get to her house to stay with her son (my grandson) overnight. He’s 16 but high functioning autistic and ADHD and understandably, my daughter won’t rest well unless she knows he’s taken care off.

My grandson and I are two peas in a pod, though. We get along great, he’s a good kid! He says to me, ‘Grammy, we’re in synch!”

We’ll have a good time then, most likely, go to pick up my DD the following day.

I’ll probably stay the night again and go back and forth between houses to help her with personal care and to keep an eye on her in general.

Oh, and, yes, I’m very grateful to her co-workers. I don’t know how she would do this without their donated paid time off. She loves her job..and she goes to work every day- even in bad icy weather. DD is pretty amazing. I have cardiomyopathy, too, and can’t imagine having to go to work full time and take care of a special needs teenager.
