I know it is scary when a cat goes missing. Often they will come back home - even inside cats - after everything quiets down. One tip from our local cat rescue, is to put their used litter box out on your patio or porch.

Art—here is a poster with tips on how to get a cat to come home.

And, do you have any crawl spaces in or under your house? Check there too if you haven’t.

Penny has been found, I am so relieved! That is exactly where she was - inside our box spring and apparently could not find the hole she got in through to get back out!!! She must have remembered how she used to get in son's bed after we first got her and went to hide there when our friend got here. I even pulled all the underbed boxes out and shined a flashlight around up under there earlier and didn't see her. i don't know how she hid that well.

Perhaps a GPS collar would be handy just in case.

I am unduly outraged over a youtube video that purports to depict classic southern desserts but in fact is showing nonsensical non-homemade questionable food items that no self-respecting southerner would have ever eaten or made or possibly not even heard of in their whole life. You can't just throw a damn peanut or pecan on something and call it a classic southern dessert.

I don't think one is responsible for the feelings of others particularly a therapist -and if a therapist gets hurt by what a client says - that is on the therapist not the client. I also think therapists say those sorts of things to be manipulative at the client and not because they are particularly true. On the other hand, if you meant to hurt the therapist - then good job - I think it is hard to do and one should take credit for accomplishing what they set out to do (I am not being sarcastic - I mean it)

I have been fighting a cold all week. It started small, is now a monster. Staying home today as it was actually a rare day I could get away with canceling classes.

My Dad is thinking of taking my older cat to the vet. I said I didn't have the money yet (assuming it's going to be a few hundred dollars and I suppose I could always put it on a credit card) but my Dad said he would front the money. I was talking to my parents about how my older cat, Esther, has been losing weight. She's eating, she's not lethargic, she's pooping, she's peeing, but she seems a bit irritable (although she is old and I think she has earned the right to be irritable) but I don't know if she is in any pain. And the losing weight thing is scaring me. I looked online and you know the Google doctor said it could be diabetes. If so, that can be treated, so that's good. But if it is something else....I'll keep the couch posted. I don't know when we can get her in but hopefully soon. Kit
