I wish to heck that for once in my damn life I could just be right about something. Rant over.

I am not trying to argue with you either.

If you want to be right that the therapist only did X or Y when you were miserable - have at it.

You are right about the way you feel: you feel it was cruel of her to say that.

Beyond that, you may or may not be right about what she meant. I am just trying to help you not cause yourself emotional pain. Sorry that I missed the mark.

It's all good. I just still suck at what I see as me trying to learn how to stand up for myself.

Hi Una, she's part Russian Blue. And Amelia is part Snowshoe. Both are rescues. Esther has a kinked tail so I think that may have been why she was abandoned, but it's cute, I can curl it around my finger. And she'll use the tip to "find" me in bed and then wap me with her tail when she is displeased with me. That is also cute, just not at 2 AM.

I am always surprised at why some comments are hugged. I see the post as completely neutral and free from any emotional content and someone else sees something else altogether. Fascinating.

Good Morning Couchies, I got up early so I could give Esther plenty of time to eat and then wait 30 minutes to give her the insulin shot. In the mean time I fed Amelia and my dog, Emma, and gave Esther her anti-biotic. Then I was able to give her an insulin shot and go on my walk. She's still not eating much, but I think once she figures out she is not getting dry food she's going to be eating more of the wet food. She's used to just one spoonful of wet food in the afternoon and free feeding the dry food. She's a snacker so it's hard for her to eat a meal. The food is going to cost about $50 for 24 cans. She should be eating 2/3rds of a can per day. I'm going to go to the vets tomorrow to get some more food and ask them if there is anything I can do to help her eat a little more. It takes her so long to eat. Like half an hour or so. It's hard to keep Amelia away from Esther that long, but I don't want Amelia eating this expensive food that is specially for cats with diabetes. It's been a long morning. I picked up my boss and brought her to work and now it's 1/2 an hour into my shift and I'm wishing I could take a nap! We will all get used to this schedule of feeding and meds eventually. It's a process. HUGS Kit

Can you put the slow eater in your bedroom and shut the door with the other animals outside of the room? That is what I do when one needs special food or more time

And if you are worried about the food going bad you can put a little ice pack under it.

I never thought about or worried about cat food going bad if eaten within a day. My cats prefer it warm rather than cold. I put a can out in a bowl for mine at night when I go to bed and if there is any left over in the morning, I divide it up into the dog bowls and get the cats a fresh bowl for their morning can.

I don’t generally worry about it going bad... but then with the number of cats and dogs in my house cat food doesn’t stand a chance. No slow eaters here.

Esther has been on the same can for two days. So I'm refrigerating it when she is not eating. She is supposed to go through 2/3rds of a can in one day.

Somebody please tell me I'm not a failure for looking out for my best interests? It's not a good idea for me to go to the famous local theatre if it's gonna leave me triggered and messed up for several weeks afterwards, is it?
