interesting tidbit about the planet Mercury: days and nights there last about 3 earth months each. it has extremes of temperature too, daytime temps reach 425 degrees C, night time falls to below -150 degrees C.

Yeah now we're getting into the fascinating ****! studying the planets. Uranus - I just read that if you lived on a platform floating in the atmosphere near its north pole, you'd have continuous daylight for 42 years, then after a super-gradual sunset, night for 42 years.
Thanks for this!

Could we live underground at the poles?

Time enough to fly south for the winter.

The paternal aunt has the girls. All I can do is hope my sister has learned her lesson and straightens up enough for her to get her girls back. That's the only way everyone "wins". Any other scenario, someone loses...especially the girls.

I am glad they are at least with family and not in the system. Hugs.

Morning couch! I'm up early to get some studying done before I go hiking. Last night I read chapter 7 obviously about "Our Planetary System" and this morning I'm on chapter 8 "Formation of the Solar System". I did the chapter 7 homework last night too. The farther we get into our textbook, the more in awe I am. That there exists SO much more in the whole universe than we can even dream of. It is certainly broadening my horizons beyond my little life. In a very good way.

hugs and headnods all around. back to the books!
