Well, they're in his family. My family won't have any contact with the girls for 6 months

Back from hiking this morning in our local National Park. Made some new friends today, and will be going hiking with them again in the near future:

The desert has always struck me as hazardous with all those prickly plants. I had an unfortunate cactus incident when I was young.
But I have always wanted to go to Santa Fe for the opera festival.

As long as you stay on the trails and watch where you're going.... it's not so bad... I think the desert is so peaceful and beautiful I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Also, we heard a rattlesnake at one point but we never saw it. It was somewhere off the trail but close by.

Finished the pajama pants! I still make a far better quilter than seamstress but that isn’t really saying much

I never was very good at sewing. My sister on the other hand, can sew anything. She even makes specifically-tailored dress slacks for our other sister. I have made a few things when I was younger like a dress or two and mostly skirts but that was it. I have not the patience for it. Crochet is what I am good at.
Thanks for this!

That’s funny, I don’t have the patience to crochet or knit but I am learning to sew.
My grandmother tried to teach me as a kid but she basically just traumatized me and convinced me I would never be able to sew. After talking to my aunt I thought about giving it another go... then found a sewing machine for $15 at a flea market that just said “works”... so I jumped in... a purse, two baby quilts and now pajama pants... I think I am hooked.

It's so cool to see pictures of the desert. Everything here is greening up and everything is covered in pollen so my blue car looks green. It's nice to see the sun again.

I'm cleaning today ugh if it will just stay that way for a while.

Happy Saturday couch.

That's great that you're doing so well with it! It was my mom that convinced me I couldn't sew because my attempts were never good enough. It's funny, my grandma taught me to crochet many moons ago, and she was tough too, she taught me to rip out my mistakes and correct them even if I didn't notice the mistake right away, she'd have me rip out everything back past the mistake and do it over, but she was so loving in the way she did it as opposed to my mom, plus I watched her frog her OWN work enough times for the same reason, and I still rip out and fix mistakes to this day. I loved my grandma like crazy. Sometimes when I'm crocheting something difficult (like a baby dress I made for my niece that I struggled with) I feel like my grandma is somehow their guiding my fingers. Like I channel her talent or something.

My grandmother sewed, knitted, crocheted, and did crewel work. My brother learned to crochet and enjoyed it but I never got into it. It was one of those things for me that I could never figure out what you would do with anything that was crocheted. Knitting looked practical but I sucked at it. I can sew a little, but for me, the activity isn't fun and so I only do it for projects where I need something very specific that I can't just go get with a lot less effort.

I don't have very good hand-eye coordination, so I can't even thread a needle.

I am OK at threading the needle on my sewing machine but my embroidery machine threads itself! My next sewing machine will too, I don’t trust my eyes!

This is the second week of my new study group, There's 4 of us in total at the moment with the guy I kinda liked previously. The trouble he is the smartest in our year and I'm just finding it rather intense and it's hard trying to keep up. Today it was 10am - 6.45pm, And he wants to start at 9am tomorrow.

That sounds painful, Cake. I hope he eases up a bit with time.

My brain is wired to wake up early at 6am without an alarm, so I'm used to waking up early.

He's nice but I feel like I'm the weakest link there. Ho hum we have a month to exam season.

I am currently spamming the discussion boards for my online class haha. No one else is posting right now cuz it's the tail end of spring break, but I wanted to work ahead a little so I can go on a day trip next Saturday to Bisbee with the same friends I went hiking with this morning. They're planning on leaving at 7am and once there hiking to the top of the big hill & back down, and then having lunch somewhere, then the mine tour, then a ghost tour at dusk. We won't be getting back home til probably 9 or 10 at night. So, no time for studying!
