That's the point. You don't try to control it. Just think whatever you are thinking, and explore that. This is not a good thing to do when you think you have some required task to perform.

Yeah Ms. -- in my next ife I'm coming back as a buddhist nun.

Hi Jacq,

As far as the thinking goes--Pema says just notice the thought, label it thinking, and let it go. When the next thought comes up do the same, and so on and so forth.

We all have thoughts that come up and appear. But that's what meditation is--letting the thoughts just sort drift through and always coming back to the breath.

Think what I am thinking eh ... I will have to give that one a shot. Normally I "refuse" those thoughts that are "troublesome", but I guess if i'm in the right frame of mind, i might as well deal with them and take them full on! Mindfulness

I will have to keep that in mind, and add the book to my list! Thanks!

Hi Sky - I would like to chat more on mindfulness. I have been practicing mindfulness and need to get better at it. I think a mindfulness chat is a good ideal.

Mindfulness

So I was considering participating in the Mindfulness class that they offer at the University next semester, but I'm pretty sure that my old T runs it Mindfulness

I saw her first semester last year, but then ended things with her because it just wasn't working out. I told her about some things, and she said she didn't "specialize" in them - which then lead to never talking about them. This didn't help me, so i emailed her letting her know that i didn't think it was working, and that i would like to see someone else .......

Mindfulness This would be horrible for me to do wouldn't it? I mean besides the fact that i would be completely awkward, do you think she would see me and, resent me almost? Or she may not even really remember me? I did only see her for a little while, and i look a lot different then i did then .... or now am i only trying to justify myself going ?

Any thoughts???
Thanks!

I think it's wonderful that you'll be exploring this in group.

What your experiences will be are something to look forward to and will happen when they happen.

Pema is a wonderful writer and philosopher. Some of her books are on CD (When Things Fall Apart is one) and her voice is as soothing as her writing style.

New ways of looking at things, new ways of thinking about things, new ways to experience things.
