Possible trigger:

Tell him to watch Dr Blaise Aguirre's talk. It's the best documentary that I've found.

Our first PC was Dell, but I haven't seen them around for years. I'm procrastinating and now watching The Rise And Fall of Gap.

They’re very common in the US—cheap and in academia with a significant student discount. My school gives faculty Dell laptops.

I owned a few when I was a student and never found them reliable or durable for more than a year or two.

My family’s first computer was an Apple IIe.

I've had mine since 2012 but have had a new hard drive installed and the fan replaced a couple years ago I guess it was. And windows 10 install crashed it awhile back had to take it to computer shop to fix but since those things it's been great knock on wood.

I started on a TRS80 then learned to program in Apple Basic before getting a RadioShack desktop with AOL dial up and a Juno email

I wish I could find a reliable laptop. My Lenovo is a piece of crap, and it wasn't cheap. The keys stopped lighting up after a freaking week. Within a year, the hard drive went out twice, & I had to have the screen replaced. Just had to replace the fan, but it is 3 years old now.

My HP laptop before this wasn't much better. My dad has an HP desktop he has had less than a year & it's a disaster. Maybe it's some genetic thing we can't get reliable computers, ha.

I only buy Apple laptops now. I never had any luck with the durability of Windows machines (Dell, Lenovo), but I have a 12-year-old functioning MacBook.

I think you all are jealous SD hugged someone and it wasn’t you.

ETA: if she deigns to respond to our badinage she will claim she didn’t have her glasses on and thought she was hitting the thanks button.

A likely story.

You know you are right about that. I'm still waking up. I haven't been sleeping well, I'm an emotional mess, and my brain has taken a leave of absence
