Shes not from around here, is she? I mean, shes not a native speaker. Interesting that language is so difficult for her. I wonder what her intellectual strength is?
Thanks for this!

Actually, many of my foreign students, esp Chinese students, would request copious lists of words that they could memorize, in lieu of showing up and doing the much broader content work of a class. Their entire focus was just getting the high score on whatever standardized test they'd have to take. Everything else was irrelevant to them.
Thanks for this!

Thanks an hour to go. Getting nervous. And my cardigan smelt of petrol I must have accidentally spilt some when filling up so I sprayed it with perfume but I put too much so that's all you can smell

Happy birthday to art. I used to have a little sparkle throwing gif, but I think it's on my old laptop

Livin’ dangerously, celiac edition: I just came thiiiiis close to buying something with barley in it.

ETA: I’m in an odd in-between place where I want to eat emotionally but physically I’m not hungry, so I’m not. But I feel like it. Very discombobulating.

I have to give my payment to someone at the front desk, I haven't done that for 8 years I always gave my payment directly to exT. I wonder how this will change my perception of the therapist

Definitely a product of their education system, at least according to our Chinese exchange students. Their take on the good and bad of the American education system compared to theirs makes for an interesting discussion.

Actually, the student is Chinese—but clearly is not into memorization.

The word list was requested to see if her adviser would let her use the course for a different degree.

I don't know if any of you are feeding your dogs grain free food. The FDA found that grain free food is causing heart disease in dogs. We talked to our specialty dog food store and they said it's because most grain free foods are based off of lentils and it has something to do with absorption? Anyway, they suggest no grain free food or adding taurine? to their diet. Just an fyi.

I am so tired I can barely stand it. The kids' dad and I are preparing for divorce mediation, and it is so. much. work. Good work, necessary work, but exhausting.

Things are going very very smoothly, unexpectedly so, and it is a bit eerie. When things are going smoothly is when they traditionally blow up. I think it makes me more anxious rather than less, like I'm holding my breath and waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm trying to just hold my balance and not flutter or fix or appease or anticipate the drop of the shoe. I've worked pretty hard for a long time to get to a point where we could do this peacefully. Cross your fingers for me Couchies, and send me good vibes or unicorn glitter or breathe a couple deep breaths for me, or whatever, that all the shoes get set down quietly.

I saw that, but we don't have much choice. Our Scottish Terrier has horrible skin allergy issues with regular dog foods. What has worked for her is grain-free. With regular food, she loses hair and chews and scratches herself raw. She's 10 and healthy on grain-free. There are legitimate reasons for needing to use grain-free for some dogs. The problem is people using it for no real reason.

I dunno, WFS...you sure you want unicorn glitter? It does come from a heart-shaped cloaca.

Fingers crossed!
