Anyway, they suggest no grain free food or adding taurine? to their diet. Just an fyi.
That's not actually what they said. They found a correlation between several brands of grain free dog food and a certain type of heart condition leading to heart disease. If it were as simple as cause and effect, more dogs would be affected.

That said, I do not feed my dogs grain free food and consider it a silly fad. Grains are not bad for dogs unless they have specific allergies or sensitivities to them - and most dogs don't.

ETA: And this study wasn't the type where they feed dogs different diets and then track them over time. They are basing the advisory on data they are capturing from dogs who were not in studies who were reported to have this occur.

Ok I am very confused about what happened in the session but at least he is on the same page as me with EMDR in that it has sketchy origins and is basically a distraction technique.

It just seemed very loose and we jumped about from thing to thing i seemed to ramble a lot. There seemed to be too much laughing I don't know it is all jumbled in my head. But I do like him. He seems ok. He has AC/DC as the ringtone on his phone which he forgot to turn off. He was late but he did go for the full hour.
ETA it was his first day at the clinic so things weren't sorted out properly like no comfortable chairs etc

Oh and I didn't have to pay. It was done through the govt payment system. I don't like that idea.

I got a clicker for use with training the tiny terror and the book says it can also be used on people. I wonder if the therapist is trainable.

Sounds pretty sweet to me, but surely he would be ok with taking payment out of pocket if you don't like it.

Hmm, probably not, this seems to insinuate the human victim would need to count the clicks to "redeem them for rewards." I doubt the therapist will want the training treats I use with the tiny terror. Maybe a bit of cheese instead.

H got home, he said he didn't call because he loses track of day or night inside the casinos with his buddies. And he was winning and focused on continuing to win. He came home with about $300 more than he left with, so successful trip.

I'm glad he is home.

The city I live in has a real homeless problem. That being said, I live just on the outskirts in a suburb and the hardcore homeless usually don't make it this far although we get a fair amount of panhandlers. I venture into the city often so I see a lot of homeless people, and although I'm not immune to their plight, you get kind of used to seeing them. (My therapist's office building is adjacent to the main public library which they tend to congregate near. It's also adjacent to a large church that feeds the homeless several times a week.) As I was driving a bit ago near my home I saw a man laying on the ground next to the sidewalk next to an overturned shopping cart. I got incredibly triggered by this. He wasn't terribly dirty looking. His clothes looked okay and he was wearing a clean backpack. He was a middle aged guy. He looked like he'd passed out drunk. (God, I hope he wasn't in need of medical attention because I just kept on driving.) I guess this is what triggered me. I could see this guy being my husband. What if he returns to the area I live in after prison and I see him passed out drunk on the side of the road? Instant anxiety. I don't think I can deal with drunk people anymore. So much bad stuff happened while he was drunk. What's ironic is that I was returning home from the liquor store.

My brain is not at full strength. No serious harm done yet, but I'm making too many mistakes.

Sickness, changed medication, bad weather, approaching holiday, creeping senility? I wish I knew.

I'm certainly not having any trouble sleeping.

Maybe it just needs some time and continued activity to regain strength, CE. Like an atrophied muscle.

I'm a raging psycho tonight. H was upsetting me as soon as I was home from T. He was saying some really hurtful things to me tonight. My son joked that mom meant made of money, and he said that I don't have any money because I don't work. It's him that people think is made of money. And how I'm wasting his money to pay my credit card bills.
Possible trigger:

T mentioned the hospital yet again today. As scary as it is for me to think about, maybe I should. I've never been voluntarily and I don't know how T would help me get into a place like he said he could. We haven't discussed anything about what if I agreed.

Well, the idiots around me are setting off 1/2 sticks for the holiday after midnight. They have no clue how lucky they are that my horses don’t give a glittered fart about fireworks... although the ambulance just went by... *sigh* and the real deal is tomorrow.

I think you should go if you're not sure you can keep safe otherwise.

I dunno, given the circumstances, it could be particularly fitting. It LOOKS all bright and shiny, but it's really...

ETA: Also, I think I'd rather deal with glitter farts right now than bank statements and taxes and who gets which plates.

I am having doubts about the new T because he was talking about using just the 10 funded sessions. What if I want to see him beyond that?

OH. I just had a thought that made me feel way better: I am a perfectly competent adult, and I am going to buy myself an electric chainsaw.

Last storm, we had a bunch of large branches come down. I thought, "I can handle that on my own," (because I totally could have) and I went to the home improvement store and bought a little electric chainsaw with the help of a lovely helpful woman who happened to be working in that section when I came in. Seriously, it was tiny and she had a similar one at her house that she used for yard projects, and one of my friends has one she says is super easy to use. But it freaked the kids' dad out, so after I came home with the chainsaw, he hired the neighbor's yard guy to cut up the branches. Naturally, he told me about it after he'd hired the guy, who kept forgetting or getting busy, so it took him a month to get to it. I didn't feel like arguing with the ex about it so I let him take the chainsaw back to the store so he could use the $ to pay the yard guy.

I didn't realize until just now how much that stupid little thing bothered me. What a silly thing to feel freed over: I can own a tiny yard machine like a totally capable person, without hearing that I am going to cut my foot off.

It's not normal to be treated like this in a healthy relationship. I wish you could just see that you deserve to be treated better than this.

Your staying at home to look after his children, which enables him to work. It's not just his money it's family money.
