Okay, so, as I understand it (which may not be right), the market for food is inelastic, because people can't live without food. The market for cheese-flavored food would be elastic because you don't need cheese-flavored food, you can substitute other food for it. And the market for cheezits in particular would be very elastic because there are many possible substitutes for cheezits.

Likewise, the market for alcohol would be relatively inelastic, the market for wine more elastic, the market for box wine more elastic (because you can substitute non-box wine), and the market for Chateau Lafite really elastic, because if you've got to drink wine, it doesn't have to be Chateau Lafite, it can be a cheap Merlot or Zinfandel just as well.

ETA: I just called cheezits "food."

ETAA: and of course the more cheezits you eat the more elastic your waistband needs to be.

Of course cheezits are not food. They are a nectar of the gods.

I don't know about this guy he talks a lot like a lot more than my exT and gives away information about himself which I don't know what to do with. I have worked out he is a DoctorWho fan and a Goodies fan.

So what does it say about our cultures or our dietary habits that Japan has had multi flavored Kit-Kats, and we only just started with the multi flavored Oreos? Or our economies?

Economists recognize human nature is base and self-serving. They don't deal with psychology. Makes 'em easier to deal with than therapists.

Oh, and what it means from an historian's perspective is that civilization is dying.

Ok every since yesterday I have become obsessed over the $2.50 my exT owes me. It wasn't a problem when I thought I might see him again but for some reason it has become a huge thing now it is apparent he wants nothing to do with me ever. If I give it time it might not matter but at the moment it's a big $2.50.

Well H canceled his second trip and got home before I had to go to work and T called before work as well. OMG poor T. He was so lost for words (the whole situation is more complex than what I posted but I just can’t go there). I know it is Fr transference but it felt like T knew words wouldn’t work and he just wanted to hold me. Fr would have just held me, he knows words don’t work with grief. Try as he may T could not find words. I sent him an email thanking him for calling me and letting him know what I was doing to get grounded for work. I got a pretty snappy take care of YOU back from him. I know he is a very experienced T but I am really starting to believe he has not had quite another client like me.

I also scheduled with Pdoc today before the cat issue. I feel kinda funny. Pdoc said it was OK to schedule with her for back up when T is out of town and she does do therapy now. I found a supplement that is actually working better than any meds we found... OTC and like $20 for a two month supply. The scientific reviews say it doesn’t work but it seems to be working great for me. I don’t care if it is plecibo effect, I’m sleeping! Anyway... lately T being male is stirring up all kinds of new stuff and I want to see if she can be the feminine balance to male T. I don’t think I have ever needed a woman to confide in so much in my life. She is pretty awesome so she should be good with it. Now how to pay for all of this... BUT even being a nut job at work tonight I did get an interview for the new position! I asked my boss to wait to see how the meeting about my son goes tomorrow before doing the interview. I really want the position but only if I can do it right.

Just watched one of P's movie recommendations, "The Wife" starring Glenn Close. A really good movie that I can't believe slipped under my radar. I felt so much emotion for Glenn Close's character.

Economists assume human nature is base and self-serving. Which does not always turn out to be correct.

He already talks too much today we discussed being socially engaged and all the mental health benefits I couldn't be bothered telling him I had done this with exT and if I wasn't motivated then I won't be now. I don't want to go through all the stuff again I just want to pick up where exT left off but that is impossible.

I enjoy listening to the Freakonomics podcast, behavioral economics. Pretty interesting, and I think there are a couple episodes about altruism.

A Couch challenge: Pretend the entire workbench in your garage will be emptied. All you will have will be two screwdrivers and a hammer that says “Mom’s hammer: Do not touch.”. Also pretend that you believe that a reasonably intelligent human with Google and YouTube at their disposal should be able to manage minor home maintenance and repair. What basic tools do you need?

In related news, I am probably going to buy a cordless drill instead of an electric chainsaw. I am a little disappointed.
