Missing T a lot tonight. I can hear my internalized version of him in my head reassuring me that moving back and forth towards then away from trauma work is normal. I can even hear him joking with me that it would be a bit of a relief if I did the push/pull thing with him instead of being so rational and in my head rather than feeling things.
H went off on me tonight because I am stressed about my sons behaviors. H says I am not putting enough of the blame for the stress on what I am going through with T. T is doing a really good job of pacing things though and not letting me get ahead of myself or too deep. But, it is clear that H is struggling with the idea of me doing trauma work with T. I just wish he had a more supportive way of showing it.

Today’s random, probably dysfunctional accomplishment—hitting 100 unique beers in a local Taphouse beer club.

What kind of beer do you like to drink? I love IPA, but hate the really dark stouts.

I like that! My random transformative accomplishment is that the very green avocados i put in a paper bag with a couple of granny smith apples earlier this week have ripened perfectly! I feel like Jacques Pépin!

Fellow IPA drinker here! Also like some pale ales, Pilsners, and lagers. Dislike stouts, Belgians, and wheats.

Avocados are such a challenge for me. I can never get it quite right. Miss the day, then have to throw them out. Gives me a greater appreciation for guacamole at restaurants

The one I've been enjoying lately is Ninkasi Prismatic. It's a little lighter than most IPA's. Not quite as hoppy and less ABV, but fruity.

I am lying on the sofa reading. I looked up. New cat is sitting on the little bookcase at the end of the sofa, maybe a foot above me, staring.

Reminds me of this.

Who keeps a record of which beers you've tried?

I put my avocados in the fridge which is probably a no no but then they don't ripen until I take them out. However I usually take one out the day i want an avocado and 24 -48 hrs later when it is ready I no longer want it....and repeat lol

Me, in a book for this place, plus in an app called Untappd, which is good for keeping track of what I liked and didn't like. For future reference.

People who like beer. I have also used Untappd to help me remember which ones I liked better than others. Sometimes the beer selection at the store can be daunting and you can't remember which one was really good.

My therapist suggested I get that Nextdoor app because I was looking for a plumber, so I signed up. If you don't know what it is, it's like a neighborhood messaging system, I guess. You sign up with your address and you can post stuff to your neighbors. I just got an email notification from the app with the subject line "Fire". Someone inquiring about smelling a fire and wondering what's up. I did hear a bunch of sirens earlier and thought to myself, "really, today?". It's jarring seeing that show up in your inbox. I was doing so good not thinking about it too.

I had the Nextdoor app. I found it to be too much for me, too many triggers. The FB page for my neighborhood is bad enough but I have that set to where I go to it rather than having it show up on my feed.

I've used Nextdoor. I find the crime reports triggering. A lot of stuff is irrelevant to me too, I don't have kids so I don't really need to know what is happening at the schools and they post a lot of senior citizen events and I'm way too young for that. I really got it to try to sell stuff on but my town has a buy sell swap Facebook group so I just use that.

It’s hot out. Unbearably hot.

That’s all. Anybody else sitting with heat indexes going up to 115 and worried their central air is going to blow from constantly running? I have the air on in my house set to 73 and the air conditioner can’t keep up. It’s reading 77 even though it’s set to 73. I changed the filter and checked outside. The thing is running. All the curtains are closed to keep the sun out.

Same here, unfortunately. This summer has been particularly brutal.

I kept telling myself, just x more days. Its been too hot to even move, and today im all stiff!

Eta - i have a small apt with a motel type ac at the front, so i have a couple of fans, one in the middle and one in the back, to keep the air circulating. By nighttime, i can usually get away with just one fan blowing on me in bed, no ac.

Eta - its a tower fan. And the other one is good size round vornado. Not huge, but not tiny. I had a smaller one, but it blew out.

Yes. I’ve considered going into hibernation until October. Though I’m pretty sure we’ve spent much of last October in the 90’s. After that we had beautiful 60’s for a few days..then it got cold.

Yes, my condenser blew last week... when we were doing hay no less. It totally sucked. I used a lot of home made bog airconditioners to keep myself and the pets reasonably uncomfortable as opposed to miserable.
