For example, when my psychiatrist started weaning me off the Cymbalta, she started me on Trintellix. The dose was dependent on how much Cymbalta I was taking at the time. While Trintellix doesn't really work for me, I do think it made the withdrawal from Cymbalta less severe (it was still terrible because I went down too fast and SNRIs are notorious for bad withdrawals, but it would have been worse without a replacement). So if your psychiatrist wanted to switch you to something else, it would probably be safer and less disruptive mood wise to decrease your Trintellix or other medication while adding something else at a small dose. This would give you an extra med temporarily, but just until you tapered off of one med and onto the other. Or, some meds don't even require that and you can just switch. But yeah, I would be honest. That's great that you are on a more regular schedule with your therapist for the next month and a half - I hope it helps!

P.S. Also, try not to be afraid to question your psychiatrist or ask if this thing or that thing might be helpful. I have done this. I am not bossing the psychiatrist around and telling them what to prescribe me - I am just wondering if something might be a good idea for me. For example, C asked the psychiatrist if wellbutrin might help us because it works well for our sister. She said she didn't think it would be a good fit because it has stimulant properties and we have bad anxiety. It was still beneficial for C to ask the question so we aren't now wondering why she doesn't try this commonly prescribed med when we've tried so many others and they haven't worked.

Agreed re: med switching, like I went right from Effexor to Cymbalta in the past. And the same with switching SSRIs. It's possible some of your meds could be interacting. Is there one you started more recently? And agreed that you should ask questions and decline something if you don't want to try it.

My coworker is going to Panda Express and is going to get me some teriyaki Chicken. That's nice. I brought lunch but I get so sick and tired of sandwiches that I jumped at her offer to get me something else.

Since there is no Info wardrobe update, I can share my usually fashionable T's abomination today. It was like a Hawaiian shirt, but with fish--marlins, I think? Like bright turquoise. Hadn't seen that one before, so assuming it's new. Think he was wearing his cat socks, so maybe they liked the fish... Also wonder what his betta fish thought about the shirt (she seemed happy to see me on an extra day).

I guess that shirt is OK...I think it just felt awkward expressing
Possible trigger:
, In the right setting? It's great. And I like his black shirt with little zebras on it. And some of the subtle floral prints he wears. This just felt vacation-y.

I never thought I’d say this—but Info would not be caught dead in that shirt.

Socks. Ties. Suspenders. That’s where men should wear animal patterns.

One time when I was at the hospital for suicidal idealation the woman social worker who was giving me the psych eval was wearing these horrible bright colors like bright yellow and neon green and it just grated on my already thin nerves. I guess maybe she thought she was being cheerful but it was too much. I wanted to puke just seeing her. Of course I was in this horrid hospital gown so I already felt ridiculous and I just thought this would not end well.

My Panda Express fortune says "A new outlook will mean sunny skies ahead." Humph. I don't think so.

What bothers me is that he wore two animal prints - the fish shirt and the cat socks. You just don't do that. What was he thinking?

I am not known for my sense of fashion. Don't wear plaids and stripes together or white shoes after labor day are about the only ones I know.
Sometimes we have to tell students they can't wear flip flops to court, but besides that, I don't really pay much attention to attire. I wouldn't have thought anything at all about that shirt if I had noticed it (which is not a given that I would have done) and I would not have noticed the socks at all under any circumstances. I couldn't say what I wore yesterday.

I don't really care about fashion much, but I would say that two different animal prints are akin to plaid and stripes together. Ok, maybe not quite as bad, but in the same category.

I'm with SD - I never notice what people are wearing (unless I am looking for a specific person since I work security). I don't notice clothes, jewelry or shoes.

90% of the time I wear t-shirts with my favorite baseball team on them.

Starting to wonder if I am capable of having a professional career.. especially one in the “helping field.” Anxiety has overtaken my life, and what kind of example would I be to others? Ugh..

I notice people's shoes a lot because I sold shoes for about 8 years. I can usually tell if someone is wearing the wrong size or if they need a wide and aren't wearing a wide. I notice if the shoes are ones I used to sell. I notice if they are scuffed or polished (not sneakers but shoes like loafers). I notice if people's feet hurt. Last time T was wearing nondescript black ballet flats, black pants, a black sweater/blouse with copper snaps down the sides of the sleeves and black flowers in her hair. She is fair skinned with blonde hair. She either dresses in all black or in some garish colors. I prefer all black, but then, I'm partial to black. My prof friend who I meet for Book Club constantly gets on me about wearing too much black. What's wrong with black? It looks nice in almost any occasion, and you can't tell if you have blood on your sleeve or if you spilled something on your shirt.

I hope eventually you can find something that helps your anxiety, maybe therapy, maybe medication, maybe a natural remedy or some combination of things. I believe people having issues provides them with more empathy and therefore makes them even better in the helping field.

It seems like everyone in the field has some issue of their own too...so why not you? At least you’re aware of it. (Some of the others don’t seem to be.)

My current T flat out told me her life is a mess. I didn't inquire as to what she meant by that but she was honest that her life isn't perfect in any means.
