I'm currently trying to review my past medical records from my pcp on my patient portal to see what medications I've tried or at least been prescribed. Trying to be more informed for my psychiatrist appointment tomorrow, because I really don't know what all I've tried. I feel like maybe I should start from scratch and go from there.

Susannah, with the place you're moving to, does it have any curtains, carpet, or furniture that was there before? If so, that's likely holding onto the smoke odor, so you may need to get that cleaned. I think baking soda can help with carpet or furniture. Curtains could be washed or dry-cleaned. And did they repaint before you're moving in? If not (or maybe even if so), you may want to try washing the walls with a vinegar solution, as smoke can get into the walls, too (my father had to deal with that when selling my grandfather's house). Hopefully the air purifier will help as well.
Thanks for this!

Slept sooooo poorly last night—would get in an hour or so then wake up for another few hours. I thought I’d recovered from the night shift but apparently not. I’m supposed to go camping by myself tonight but I don’t want to go if it’s going to be like this sleep-wise.

I am trying to go more paperless this semester. I probably won't make it all but I will try to cut down on the handouts. I just hate that it makes them more prone to staring at the computer rather than engaging

Perhaps we need softball teams - the therapy skeptics versus the true believers and acolytes. The acolytes will bring the kool aid

Hi Couchies, had a pretty good weekend, but I SH-ed this morning. I see T and PDOC tonight which I am sort of worried about. I probably don't need to be worried. It will probably go fine. I'm not entirely sure what I am worried about. I just am. Hmm. HUGS Kit

My T confuses me so much...after all that stuff about standing before...and how he can stand at end if I pay at the beginning (which he's been doing), today I forgot to pay at the beginning, so I just paid at the end. And he...stayed standing during my payment and saying goodbye. He did say he was about to feed his fish (that sounds like a weird euphemism, but he does have a betta fish in there!), so I guess he was going to keep standing anyway? Still...sigh. It was nice, just puzzling.

I would find it confusing. Try not to read too much into it though. He probably was just going to feed the fish.

My parents are going to be gone Friday through Monday. They are going to AZ. So I will be home alone. Just me, the two kitties, and the dog. I'm thinking about going to Disneyland on Sunday so that will be one less day that I am alone. And I work Friday and Monday. With all the recent SH and SI I'm thinking being all alone isn't going to bode well for me. So I am trying to plan ahead.

Also, when I sat down, my T was like, "Your hair is shorter." and I was like, "Yes it is, I got a haircut." He's such a guy. Like, say a fake compliment at least or something!

Did anyone watch Downton Abbey Live on PBS last night? I was amazed how much different Mrs. Hughes looked! She looks fabulous IRL and so much different than her character. Anyone planning on seeing the movie?

I did feel my T seemed particularly attuned to me today. He may understand me more than I'd realized. Had some interesting discussion about how all relationships end (even if by death) and how most people are in denial of that, so it's how they manage. While I'm unable to be in denial of that (T's words). I asked if maybe acceptance of that fact could work for me, and he thought so. He said how relationships can be valuable and have meaning, no matter how fleeting, even a few days. So we talked about finding meaning in them and trying to appreciate them for what they are.

Classes haven’t even begun yet and my stress levels are at October norms.

It has to do with this TA I lost. Applied for two graders instead. Our idiot HR manager decided the application was a mistake because I must mean graders for my other course (Western Civ) that has graders. So she cancels it without asking for clarification.

When I ask about it this morning, there results a huge email chain, chairs cc’d, lots of cya-ing. And she is still not moving on graders for the right course.

On a colleague's recommendation I am drowning my sorrows in fireball whiskey. It's good if you like cinnamon.

And eating the only gluten free food I seem to be able to emotionally eat with--Annie's cheddar crackers.
