I finaly broke down and made an appt, with an income based therapist today. I'm just becoming less and less functional, and don't see how I can go on like this. I did think, however, that I had hidden my condition well, fear of no longer being able to do so is part of what drove me to take this step. So when I casually mentioned it to my grown daughters I was amazed at their responses of "OMG it's about time!" and "Congratulations, Mama, you needed to" Here I thought I was the only one to know the severity of my problems, and in reality I was just the last to know. Funny

That is a bit amusing/comforting that you can let down some defenses and not feel like you have to carry on stoically for others anymore. I'm glad you can laugh at yourself for doing that and not knowing.

Hope your appointment goes well and this therapist is helpful.

Sounds like you have some caring daughters.

Yea, it is kind of funny how sometimes we think we are the only ones that know what's going on "inside"..... and then to be surprised that others saw some of what we thought was hidden. Funny I think it happens more than most realize.

Hey good luck with your therapist!
I just re-entered therapy with a new therapist-- been there 3 times so far.
