Sorry that may have been a little much. I drank a bit tonight.

I am sous viding the whole feast for tomorrow. It means prep tonight but less worry tomorrow. Still trying to decide about whether to attempt yorkshire puddings. I am not great at them, but have a new technique to try.

No - I always get it too greasy when I try that way. This is using little muffin tins and making the batter tonight - the overnight resting is supposed to do something

Funny you should say that!

I initially clicked on "Nightmare Shark," being a big fan of sharks + the SyFy channel, but the description read, "Shark-attack survivors are hunted by a supernatural shark."

Umm, the sharks have to actually be real and alive.

I have to draw the line somewhere.

(I instantly fell asleep watching the other though, so round 2 here I go.)

Boy today was a long day. Excruciatingly slow hours spent w my mom, and then over to my aunt’s for dinner. I feel dead inside and have absolutely nothing to contribute to anyone.

I am up with the kittens, sitting on the floor watching them play. They have already bonded with me and come to me when I talk kitty voice to them. They both have loud rumbly purrs. Right now they are playing together, chasing and and jumping and batting at tails. Little Miss No-Foot is not held back in the least by her missing paw, except that she can't climb over the baby gate and fluffy kitten can. They are both sweet and friendly and curious. Fluffy kitty is confident and relaxed and pretty laid back; black and white kitty is alert and inquisitive and active and a little skittish.

The boys have no idea.

There is a cat bed and toys out with the boys' stockings. I cannot believe that I've managed to keep this secret, as excited as I am and as hard as it is to hide kittens. I can't wait until tomorrow morning.

Crotchety cat came into my bedroom twice. The first time he sniffed the kittens through the baby gate, then turned around and hissed at me. Smart cat. He knows whose fault this is.

The second time he looked through the gate then turned around and walked out of the room. Probably in a dudgeon.

Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates! H woke me up to put all the presents out and write a letter back to the kids. At least I managed to finish all my wrapping earlier so now I can go back to sleep hopefully.

Haha, no, not quite like that! Might have run screaming if she'd mentioned her snatch. Was just me and her and D in the basement (D was playing), and it just sort of came up, I don't recall how.

Aw, I hope they're surprised! The kittens sound adorable. Pics when you have a chance (I missed the earlier one apparently). Also, your mentioning "Little Miss No Foot" makes me think of our friends' late cat, who had extra toes on his paws, so he was "ET" for "Extra Toes."

Christmas trivia: Victorian England switched to Happy Christmas from Merry Christmas because merry was slang for “drunk.”

We don't do a dinner or anything really special for Christmas, but I actually have an aunt and uncle downstairs- they've been arguing with each other downstairs since they pretty much arrived. Not a family event at 3- XXXXX road unless there's one argument.

I've actually had an okay day- the key to feeling less crummy is perhaps lowering your expectations.

Morning walk with my sister at our local park.
Hot chocolate at Starbucks and I've got 14 stars left to my next FREE drink!
I cleaned every room and did the second half of the dishes (my sister did the first).
Watched a stupid movie called "angel of mine"

Possible trigger:

And I'm drinking tea.

Snatch is a good code word. My sister would say empty container when she was younger. <less than 11.

I’m getting nervous about calling my parents to say Merry Christmas—they don’t know I’m in the hospital so I have to lie and pretend I’m at work (I don’t feel like I can tell them because they are terrible at respecting my boundaries when it comes to this kind of thing).
