I really like cats, but not the hairless ones. Supposedly they're bad-tempered too (they must be cold all the time).

I feel sorry for the cats with Hitler mustaches.

Harvard apparently paid for students' flights home (at least those on financial aid). Which is the sort of thing you can do with a $41 billion endowment. (I don't think my school even has a billion-dollar endowment.)

My spring writer's workshop with the local author is supposed to start Monday night (and the creative writing center is open, all campus offices are). It was actually supposed to start two weeks ago, but he got flu that turned into pneumonia. I don't know if he's going to want to take the risk.

@chihirochild

Most times I read your posts and feel, ‘Omgosh, how does she do it all! Let this person have some sleep or rest!’

Rest, play games online, sit on your porch or patio (if not too cold) and listen to the wind, watch the birds, read a book..

Hope you take advantage of this break and do something *you* like to do.
Whatever refreshes your spirit...do that, if you can.
Rest.

Hope everyone's doing okay!
My T still has his sessions for now, country is not yet locked down. But I decided this week that I'll stay home for at least some period of time. He's not good enough with technology to figure out how to use something like zoom, so I'll probably be on phone sessions only for a while.

Really glad he let me take some pictures of him during the last session, those really help.

Feeling hungover-ish after yesterday's session. I don't drink, but it was a rough one.

My son just got notice that the two major universities in Denton (his is one of them) are extending spring break a week (he's home this week). On the 24th they may go online. Depends on what develops.

Hi All, I'm still feeling self destructive today. I don't know if I am going to go to the support group or not tonight. It's two hours long. That is kind of a commitment. Part of me thinks I should go, especially as I skipped Pastor T this week. Part of me is like, blow it off. I don't know if that is part of the self destructive part of me talking or if something in me is just like, you need a break, so take it!

Today's Dr. T session was the coronavirus edition. I said at the start he was probably tired of talking about it, and he said I'm actually his first client to go this in-depth about it. Though many of his clients are teens and/or athletes. I ended up breaking down crying partway through about some of the negative thought spirals I had last night related to it. Which led to a discussion that was more just about my negative thoughts in general, like fear of being happy, worry that if something good happens to me, then something bad will happen, etc. He said how much of it sounds like superstition. And we ended up in a discussion about that sort of thing.

He randomly pulled an example from "Friends," which sort of threw me. With Ross, Rachel, and Julie, using the correct names and some specifics about the plotline. I wouldn't have taken him for a Friends watcher--maybe his wife was into it? We ended up talking for a full hour, which meant I went over by 5-10 minutes, but he seemed fine with it. I think it helped to get all that out. There was a bit of joking in there, too, which was also helpful. Like his saying he needed to go shopping for toilet paper because they just happened to need it then, but of course the stores were out, but had plenty of paper towels. So he said he wanted to be like, "OK, what are your softest paper towels?" (Me: "Viva.")

I asked if he had any plans to switch to phone calls instead of in person, and he said not currently. And he said he normally wipes down his office once a day, but may start doing so more often. Just did an "air handshake" at the end, which was understandable.

I just got out of a two hour long meeting at work but it was actually pretty interesting. Still don't know if I am going to the support group tonight. It is raining. Maybe not a lot of people will come and it will be more time for everyone to talk then.

Hey couch. Heard yesterday that ASU and U of A are both going to online only after they get back from spring break for a time. And just got notice this afternoon that my college is soon going online only and possibly til the end of the semester... in other news, we've had a lot of rain here lately and the crane flies are attempting to take over my neighborhood...

Good. I saw someone earlier describe Disney as the perfect petri dish for viruses. Same story mentioned a woman there saying "If I die, I might as well die at Disney." Maybe while infecting lots of other people?

But Kit, if you don't want to go to your group tonight there's your excuse--coronavirus.

That and it's raining like crazy. Once the Thunder started I was like oh guess I'm not going. Plus my Dad decided it wasn't good for me to go tonight. I was supposed to go to a HS musical tomorrow night but it got cancelled.

I just saw that DisneyLand and DisneyWorld are closed til the end of March.

Hopefully this will just nip it in the bud, as Barney Fife used to say. Or your butt, as my mom would say.

I would consider a Disney Park a punishment at the best of times. They are gooey germ infested swampy places even without coronavirus.

I didnt end up getting the infusion partly because my ear hurt and they were worried it was an infection and partly because I don't think a delay of 2 weeks will hurt things, then see where we sit with this virus. I'm scared to have my immune system not working at a time like this.

Twitter. It’s the new Cloaca Maxima (Really Big Sewer in Latin).

PSA: Grocery stores may be crazy. I went to pick up my car from the mechanic and swung by the grocery store after for some bananas. Mistake. It was packed. Some woman turned down the toiler paper aisle, saw the empty shelves and her mouth went into a perfect O.

They seemed to be running low on everything (not bananas though), though some of it might have been from their weekly sales.

ETA: also there are now reports of ice cream runs. So we’re all going to self-isolate and gain 15 lbs.?

Our governor just closed all k-12 schools for 3 weeks. I see in the washington post they are stopping sunday catholic mass! (In D.C.) Cuz gatherings of over 250 are banned.

So - like in europe, in august, everything shuts down anyway, cuz everybody goes on vacation, right? We just never did that in the US. The idea of stopping stuff is very weird for americans, i think. Halting production? But isnt everybody a youtuber now? They can all still "create content". More cat videos!
