So I went on that unclaimed money site that @@ brought up a while back and found someone owed me money. I already got the check, so thanks! I ended up looking up some other people including my parents and found that my Dad was listed on one state's site, so I told my mother about it. The only info they gave was that it was over $100 and that it was from Allstate Insurance. She's contacted the state office and they are requiring proof that he lived there. A death certificate isn't good enough. The problem is we lived there in the 80's. She doesn't have anything. It was a rental so no property records. You can't get copies of tax returns from the IRS that far back. I doubt you can get anything from the DMV from that far back either. I've suggested she first find out if they'll tell her how much it is to see if it's worth any additional effort. Then I suggested employment records or anything with them registering me for school. After that I've got no ideas. It doesn't seem right that they can just keep your money because you can't prove you lived at an address 30 years ago.

I’m kind of surprised they keep money that long—I would have assumed there was a limit, since I would guess the state gets the money if not claimed.

Maybe Allstate has a record of their policy with an address if they had insurance with them?

I kind of figured Allstate would have washed their hands of this when they gave it to the state, but I'll suggest she call them anyway.

I gave away the husband's kayak on freecycle today. I'd probably have some mixed feelings about that if I wasn't so dysregulated from the topic we covered in session today.

Well I guess I know what I'm doing with my stimulus check. I got a letter today from my insurance company saying they're not covering the CT scan I am scheduled for on Friday. Grr! I guess I should just shut up and be thankful I received the money so I can pay for (some of) it out of pocket...no clue how much these things cost... I'll have my surgeon appeal of course, but that could take months and it's iffy that it will be approved. I work for a division of the insurance company so I've seen how these things can go. I almost want to just cancel the appointment and not even bother doing it. As I recall the surgeon told me that not all surgeons want these follow ups done, that she likes to be thorough. So maybe it's not even necessary. I'm going to call her office tomorrow morning and see what I can find out.

Hugs, Art, that's ridiculous they're not paying for the followup CT scan. Hope your surgeon's appeal will be successful.

Got through my D's 9th birthday during a pandemic. Hoping we'll be able to have a real celebration at some point... We did have a Zoom party with some family on Saturday. Still, not the same... And she seemed really sad about it, understandably...

I don't recall ever having a "real" birthday party with friends over and that kind of thing as a kid. She might feel sad about it right now, but I bet it won't be a big issue for her long term. As long as you and dad made her feel special, that's probably just fine for one birthday.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, NP. We generally just have family ones for her. The main thing she was sad about was having to celebrate her birthday in her house--she wanted to go to one of her grandparents' or a restaurant. We did get her some fancy cupcakes though.

I just had the last of a pound bag of chewy spearmint leaves for breakfast. They were sooooo good. The smell brought back some memory i couldnt quite connect with. Maybe it was being in the dentist's office? The green Chuckles. My life in candy.

I got my unclaimed money check from the state where I used to live. It ended up being $222, and I still have no idea what it was from. Thanks, @@! You really should be charging a commission for these...

I just read a thread on reddit about metaphors those people use = it makes my brain want to explode. Their smugness makes me want to beat their heads into the sidewalk
Fortunately I am also watching Der Rosenkavalier with Renee Fleming to offset it.

I worked yesterday and I work today. Then I have Wednesday and Thursday off of work. Then I work again on Friday. I am missing 40 hour work weeks. I am hoping we can go back to them soon. I'm supposed to get some help from unemployment but I don't know how long that will take. Only have like $85 more in bills this month to pay so that's good. The beginning of next month will probably be a bit tough. Hopefully I get some unemployment money by then for not being able to work 40 hours. I wish COVID 19 would go away so that things can get back to normal and y'know so that

Had an appointment with Pastor T last night. We were trying to use Skype but I didn't have a good signal. I was trying to go someplace in my parent's house where I could have more privacy to talk but unfortunately there's not a good signal throughout the house. Pastor T suggested a hot spot or an amplifier or something like that because we ended up talking on the phone and he didn't like that he couldn't see me. I was like why? You know what I look like. He's like, "I know but a lot about therapy is seeing your reactions and your facial movements and eye contact and stuff like that." On Saturday when I had talked to regular T she was saying I was having a delusion. I disagreed. It got brought up with Pastor T too and he said it was a delusion and he spent a lot of time arguing with me about it. Not sure how helpful that was. I know he is trying to help and trying to help me live my best life, but he doesn't know what I see when I hallucinate and stuff like that. It seems very real. He said that is also a delusion. Sigh. My head hurts.

Pastor T said he wouldn't do this much but he was pulling out his Pastor card. He was like, do you trust me as a Pastor and I was like, yeah, and he was like then trust me with this.

So there's two people telling me it's a delusion, which means it might be a delusion, but also isn't there that thing that says the likelihood of someone being right goes up exponentially with the number of people telling them they are wrong?

Went shopping for the Church Pantry with my Dad because a lot of people need groceries right now but since we aren't meeting at the Church a lot of people aren't bringing their donations like usual during Sunday services or whatnot. So we got about $40 of non-perishables. Canned veggies. Canned chicken. Spaghetti and Sauce. Mac and Cheese. Cereal. Pork and Beans. And Refried Beans.

I have never heard of that idea. I often think that if several people I trust are disagreeing with me and they are all telling me the same thing, they are likely seeing something about the situation that I am not.

Kitty, not really sure that delusional and exponential are good used in a thing together, whether inversely or directly proportional, ya know? i dont like things to go fast! So my mom would tell people that i was slow. Which was not amusing!
