I'm not sure think it depends on how they have it set up. Like Dr. T uses a new meeting ID and password for each one for greater security. Maybe try using the link right now and see if it says it's expired?

Yes, if they made it a recurring meeting. If they didn’t there would be a different link.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, this is my awkwardness about emailing and asking for a new link. Because the time can shift, it's not possible to set it up as recurring.

My drumming group is having online fellowship services using Zoom on Saturday afternoons now. I attended today and it was really nice 'seeing' those who attended. I plan to attend every Saturday going forward for the duration. It's sure not the same as in person, but it's still really good and helped me feel connected to my peeps again. I've been missing them! My sister set up a recurring zoom meeting for our family too, so we can all 'get together' on Sunday. I'm fairly new to this zoom thing, but so far I'm enjoying it.

aww that's so adorable!! My cat that loves being outside would probably totally live in a cat-sized hobbit house if we built one, and never come in the house!

That's awesome, thanks for sharing! I'm sort of fascinated by the long-haired ones, though not sure I'd want to deal with the fur upkeep.... Mine are short-haired American ones.

I wonder if they shed as much as some cats do? my white/orange cat sheds a LOT, but the other 2 don't shed that much.

My gray roots are getting quite lengthy. I have dark brown hair and I feel the gray kind of washes me out so I dye. During my epic journey today to find TP, I picked up a bottle of spray on hair color (L'Oreal Colornista) in purple. I wanted to see if I liked the color before I did something more long lasting like Manic Panic. I kind of like it. Part of me feels like I'm too old for purple hair and part of me says who cares. And what better time to try it out when the only people seeing it are my therapist and the person at the drive thru window.

I have toyed with the idea of putting one colored section in my hair. Like green or blue. Keep seeing these temporary color comb thingies online, may have to try one of them. I hope you found TP! I tried to find paper towels tonight but was unsuccessful. Well, they had some, but they were these fancy $2.99 a ROLL ones, which I was like, no thank you. I'll use a dishtowel and wash it...

How would you handle canceling an appointment with a T because you don't want to go back? I only saw this T 2 times, and I haven't felt like he's a good fit. Maybe it's because it's only been twice, but I want to consult with 1 or 2 more Ts to see. However at the last session, we scheduled for this Wednesday and now I don't want to go. If he had a portal, I'd just go on and cancel but he doesn't. Do I just call and leave a message or just not show up? I don't even know what I'd say if he'd answer.

I would call at a time when he’s not likely to be there or answering. (2 am?)

I don’t think not showing up is a good idea, especially if you agreed to a cancellation policy or signed papers that included one.
Thanks for this!

I agree--I'd definitely call and let him know. It's up to you if you want to say you're cancelling and don't intend to come back. You could just say that you need to cancel and will be in touch if you decide to reschedule. But if you've only seen him a couple times, really, just saying "I need to cancel Wednesday's session" should be sufficient.

The only thing about the 2 am call--do you know for sure that it's an office phone rather than a cell? If so, calling at 2 am works. If it's a cell, then it's possible he'd answer, thinking it could be an emergency. In that case, I'd call on a weekday at like 10 minutes after the hour (like 10:10), as he'd most likely be in session then and wouldn't answer. Actually, if it's a cell, you could just send a text cancelling instead.
Thanks for this!

Anyone have a good dolmas recipe? @@?

I was chatting with and checking with my Saudi students to see how they're doing and to wish them blessed Ramadan. Our very first Arabic student used to bring leftover dolmas home from the evening meal at the mosque during Ramadan, so the two kind of go together in my head. Now I have a hankering for dolmas.

I don’t make them myself, but these are in the recipe book the local Greek Orthodox church sells at their food festival.

(Dolmathes/dolmades is the plural, dolmodakia the plural diminutive.)

My sister is going to be induced tomorrow. Niece #3 on her way! I am SO not looking forward to babysitting my other 2 nieces. One, they're spoiled and don't listen well. Both throw tantrums. Two, both are having potty issues. The two year old has decided she's not potty trained and likes to go on the floor. The one year old likes to throw her poop everywhere. Three, my house just isn't set up for kids. Four, I'm barely surviving on my own! And...the reason my sister is being induced is because they think the baby might be too big and they might have to do a c-section. That might mean that I have to watch the girls longer than a day or two.

You could solve one problem by going to stay at their house instead of at yours. Maybe they'd be more comfortable, less stressed and better behaved if they were in their own environment. You'd also get a break from your H and dad for a while. And they won't be pooping on your floor. OMG, do kids really do that?

My sister did offer that to me. I declined because I would be away from my supports and comforts (i.e. my dogs), her place is a two-story, and they already act up with her and I don't think being at my place will be any worse. They might behave better? I have my own toy box for them which has "special" toys and I plan on letting them vegetate in front of the tv while I have them.

Oh...and yes kids really do that....ewww.
