Kitties and their noses and tummies. Just a reminder, that poinsettias will upset their tummies, too, and if they eat enough, they can be poisonous. Holly berries, too.

Not working today—boss said I’d done more than my fair share for the surge already. I’m on backup though, which means I’ll get called in if someone’s sick or whatnot. Still not sure about tmrw but I’m probably off the hook there too.

I have session in about half an hour and then I’ll probably go somewhere nice to walk for a bit.

What are y’all up to today?

I'm so glad you get a break, Chihiro. I've been enjoying the seasonal event in Animal Crossing. I'm surprised by just how much I enjoyed it, but it's good to have something to get excited about. Other than that, it will be a day of TV and food.

Watching Fraiser and eating brie and chocolate in bed!

I placed an order for clothes for my sister- just basic things like PJ's, a jumper and two pairs of jeans. I'm not a prude, but I draw a line at the links she was sending me for see through tops..What's the point if you have to wear something underneath? Where do all the cool kids shop?

I googled it- hope you can finish! Don't think I've tried any american cheese now that I think about it.

I have been enjoying Toy Day too! Who is your favorite villager of the ones that you have? Mine is Flora.

Happy Toy Day! My favourite is Drago. I love how upbeat he is.

My D is getting a Switch from Santa, including Animal Crossing, tomorrow--I'm hoping she'll like it. Sadly, you can apparently only have one island per Switch, or I could play (I think I could be a helper on her island or something?) Also Super Mario U, that I'm hoping we can play together. And her grandparents got her a game or two (Kirby, something else maybe?)

Incidentally, Dr. T was heavily pushing for getting her a Switch (to the point that I thought he was getting Nintendo kickbacks...I mean, obviously his son has one, but still), thinking it would be good for her, that she could also possibly connect with classmates on there. (We still need to look into whether classmates play it and if they'd be willing to connect with her on it.) It's funny, I was very skeptical, then started looking into it recently, as I feel we hadn't gotten her much for Christmas. Saw was available on Amazon a week ago, thought about getting, then saw wouldn't arrive by Christmas. I mentioned it to H, he said he didn't know if she'd be into it. Then I saw that it was available again, to arrive in time (the retro version with blue and red controllers). Mentioned to H, he was like, "Order it!" So it was just sort of funny how we both did this turnaround. Told Dr. T Monday, he seemed enthusiastic about it.

That's really cool, LT. One island per Switch is the rule, which I think is rough. Local multiplayer is possible (two people on same island, thanks to the two controllers...however the second player can't really do much.)

a good guide.

I don't know much about connecting with the switch, but you can certainly hook it up to a tv and play games locally on there. I hope your D likes it, I know if I were that age I would have loved getting a switch!

This is one of the tops my sister wanted. I told her it was too expensive, but I did place an order without telling her.

Lazy Oaf Crayon Stripe Fitted Knit Top

Never paid so much for a top before but it would have been the cost of one therapy session.

I bought a Switch for myself recently and am playing Breath of the Wild. My therapist loves that game so now I avoid doing any real work in session by talking about the game. Not sure why I'm avoiding so much recently. You'd think with the time we have left I'd be pushing to get more work done. Incidentally, he's changed the end date again. At first it was the end of the year. Then he said the end of January. Now he's saying end of February. The moving target makes me anxious. What if he moves the date back at some point?

All this talk of Switches reminds me that although I bought a Switch lite in an insomniac fit and bought games for it and downloaded them, and I brought it with me—I have yet to play a single minute with it.

It's still pretty fun to play as a secondary player under your own Switch profile. You get your own house to expand and decorate, you can buy clothes and change your outfit, interact with the island residents and visitors, catch all the critters (fish and bugs and stuff), collect and craft things and decorate the island. The main restrictions are that you can't pick the residents or move their houses around, you can't terraform (change how the cliffs and water look), and you aren't in charge of expanding the buildings that can be expanded (like the museum and the store). I'd say a secondary player still gets to enjoy like 85% of the game.

Lately my wife has been playing a text-based version of Around the World in 80 Days (except more queer and with steampunk?) and something that involves being a bouncer in the post-Brexit UK, if either of those appeal. (I honestly don't know where she even finds these things.)

I am more than willing to let others try this vaccine out before I do. I think it was rushed. I hope it works and doesn't have a horrible side effect
