Anyone watch Charlie Brown Christmas Special last night on PBS? I did. It reminds me of my childhood. It's so cute.

This morning I took my Prozac capsule. About 10 or 15 minutes later, I started feeling some discomfort in the back of my throat, so I coughed. A plume of white powder came out of my mouth and I was like what the heck? Then my throat started seriously burning. I'm guessing the capsule didn't go all the way down, even though I couldn't feel it, and once the capsule dissolved the drug inside released. I'm guessing it's acidic. My throat still hurts a little. Lesson learned: it takes more than a sip of water to get this pill where it's supposed to be.

Aww. I told my BFF back home and the geneticist guy I wasn't feeling well (I had to tell him b/c we were supposed to watch the remnants of the meteor shower tonight.) The BFF Instacarted me soup and flowers, and the geneticist is bringing me homemade soup and cough syrup tomorrow morning.

Not sure what I ever did to deserve these people in my life, but I am feeling quite grateful right now.

Aw, that's sweet of both of them. I hope you feel better soon. And sorry you'll have to miss the date...

Kicked grocery guy to the curb. He pretty much threw a tantrum when he found out I was spending a month with my mother. Then he sulked. And got passive-aggressive. And sulked. And manipulated. And sulked some more.

If you’re over 50 (or 40, or 30) and act childish and narcissistic I’m not interested in you. I just wish I’d learned that ten years ago.

I’m a not in need of a bicycle.

Welp, as long as I can't go anywhere, might as well hunker down. I'm going to drink tea and do puzzles and watch Christmas movies all day long.

Still trying to get an appointment with pdoc - it would be comical if I wasn't in such a serious situation. I'm going to have to go to the ER later today if I don't get in.

Holy heck. Geneticist guy not only brought homemade soup, he brought a whole cornucopia of sick-people fodder. I'm touched but also sort of overwhelmed? This guy is something else.

So far I'm okay today. I keep beating myself up in my head though. Thinking I am stupid. Etc. Ugh. Trying to change those negative thoughts. I haven't heard any more about my cousin and her husband so I am assuming that he made it through the night. I checked Facebook but there wasn't an update. Someone will probably text my Dad later and then he will tell me what's up. Covid is so scary. I'm glad the teeny tiny sore throat I had yesterday didn't come back. Don't have much to do at work today so this will be interesting. I have a major scanning project to work on but it's so boring. Oh well. I guess I have to work on it. Next week I only work two days.

Sometimes I find it easier to accept that you are having the thoughts and be curious about them rather than trying to change them. Like, "Oh, I'm thinking that I'm stupid today. I wonder why that is. Maybe I'm still embarrassed about X thing. That makes sense. I'm sure these pesky thoughts will go away eventually, etc." Often trying to fight the thoughts with brute force just makes me feel more stuck.

Hmmm. I find the lack of cake disturbing.

Thanks EM. This makes a lot of sense. In fact your scenario works very well for me. I am feeling embarrassed so my go to response is I must be stupid. But fighting them for two days now isn't working. I will try your acceptance and curiosity approach.

I don't want cake or sweets when I am sick. I am, however, dehydrating some old coffee cake into quasi-biscotti/hard cookie stick sort of things to take with us on our xsmas star sighting adventure coming up

I'm proud of myself. I have this boring task to do at work which is scan every document from the beginning of time apparently. It is hard for me to stay focused on it with my ADHD. But I got like 13 files done this morning. 13 down, a zillion more to go!

Have you tried listening to books on tape or something through headphones while you scan? Would that help?

If you tell those people that, they will pat themselves on the back and take credit for it
