Ugh! I tried to make a no-bake mexican chocolate cheesecake. I choose to make it in the blender because I'm lazy. Well, I stuck the spatula too close to the blades and it knicked it into the batter. Err! So then I thought to just use a strainer to get out the pieces of the spatula. I put the strainer on top of the pie crust. When I go to lift it up, it takes the crust with it So now it's all ruined!

I was planning on giving it to my neighbor. We had a "war" with eachother, but we resolved it finally. He brought us carne asada Christmas Eve and tamales on Christmas. I'm making him my mexican pulled chicken and (supposed to) the cheesecake. I already told him I was making him one Now I have to tell him I screw up...

I'm sorry your cheesecake didn't work out, Scarlet. But I bet your mexican pulled chicken is fabulous and will more than make up for it! Can you give him a raincheck on the cheesecake?

we went and looked at a house this morning (one of the zillow-owned ones that you use their app and it unlocks it for you so you don't need a realtor to show it). it had this very different tile throughout the house, that had footprints of different animals in it (dogs, cats, chickens....)

I know Amazon and Whole Foods are like evil big companies. But it's still nice that I can get a free Prime Whole Foods delivery tonight, on New Year's Day (I tipped extra for the shopper/driver). We normally get much of our produce from this company that provides reduced-price items that were overstocked (Hungry Harvest), but they're having issues with their website and not delivering this week. It wouldn't be as big of an issue, except that I have guinea pigs that need fresh veggies daily, and we're getting low (and they can't eat frozen veggies because apparently freezing changes something in the chemical structure?). And trying to avoid going into stores right now due to high COVID rates in our area.

Also, Happy New Year everyone!

I went to sleep at like 10:30 last night, randomly woke up at about 11:50, turned on the TV figuring I could see countdown, then managed to fall back asleep just before midnight. Been weirdly anxious all day, plus have a migraine--think partly due to weather stuff (rainy today then will be ridiculously warm for January tomorrow).

LT, that is great to know. I'm glad the guinea pigs have a new year feast. I've tried this a few times, and it's really such a relief to stay out of crowded places, and I have the same guilt about supporting the big companies or I might do it until vaccines trickle down.

Sounds like my kind of house. When my ex and i went looking for houses to buy i wanted the quirky ones but the ex wanted a boring house.

As a vegetarian, my Achilles heel is fried chicken. Someone in my vicinity is cooking fried chicken. It smells so good.

An Achilles heel looks like a chicken leg! Upside-down. Okay maybe this is why nobody wants to have dinner with me...

Hey, if we can call them drumsticks, why not Achilles’ heels?

Unfortunately most Achilles’ heels are off the menu for me since I’m gluten free, unless specially prepared.

The dino dna was in the mosquito that was preserved in amber.

The year that came out, for his 7th birthday i gave my nephew an old shriveled piece of trick ice with a bug in it that someone had given me in college like over 20 years ago. My nephew totally freaked! He started screaming, "Its amber! Its amber!" Best moment of my life. Not sure how he feels about it now!

Ooh, like they dont make gluten free rotisserie chicken? Thats a bummer.

So... how do they know if mannah was gluten-free or not? Maybe that fact was lost.

Oh, I thought Achilles' heels were fried.

I would hope heavenly bread doesn't have gluten in it--but I think Communion wafers do, so who knows.

That alone would have been ok but the 2nd bedroom that would be my office (I work at home) was toooo small. It did have a huge master br though, that we both liked. it's gonna be hard to find a house. there are not many coming up for sale right now and they are snatched up quickly once they do. i keep telling h we need to work with a realtor or whatever instead of just him looking at zillow.

Well I'm a special kind of dingaling. I logged in at 6am and am working away and at like 8:15 my boss IM's me and asks "how many hours are you working today, I don't show you on the volunteer list?" I said I didn't volunteer, Saturday is my normal January overtime day. She said oh, that starts tomorrow. I was like WHAT!!! she said yep. To which I replied I will finish the message I'm on right now then log off. She said ok. So I ended up doing 2.5 hours of overtime today and my 10 hour days start tomorrow.

Yep. But there were missing DNA pieces so they used frog's DNA to fill in the gaps. Apparently even though they had selected females only to control dino populations frogs can change genders which allowed them to have babies on their own.

I loved the movies as a kid. The kitchen scene with them trying to get in was so scary. Listened to the audiobooks too but Lexi was soooo annoying.

After a thunderclap knocked my Internet out on the 27th of December, I am finally back. New router set up today, and have reconnected most of my devices. Suddenly my wireless printing won't work, as it only supports 2.4Ghz - I am still working out how to get around that. Glad to be back, though.

You can request gluten free communion wafers at the Catholic Churches in my area. They put them on their own little paten on the alter.
