Stay warm!
That's how I eat Cream of Wheat and Oatmeal. Just with a little milk.

As I recall Trazodone gave me horrible nightmares during the time I was on it (combined with Zoloft). It made me sleep, but wasn't worth the nightmares so I quit taking it.

Wow, that's a lot in a hour! What's a nasal pillow? I hope whatever you get can help.

I'm not familiar with doxepin--may need to ask about that one. Glad it's helping you. Forgot that Seroquel was another one that I tried--lowest possible dose--to help with sleep, and I couldn't keep my eyes open the next day. Tried a few times and just couldn't do it.

If this test comes back negative for apnea, I think she might consider something like Ambien, but wanted to check this first. She said that Ambien can be risky if people who have apnea take it (I think it makes the breathing issues worse).

There's 3 types of masks (that I know of). First covers your mouth and nose. Second covers your nose. The nasal pillow sits right under your nose. Like a nasal cannula, but it's kind of a pillow.

h was diagnosed with sleep apnea a number of years ago but he couldn't get along with the full nose/mouth mask that was his only option back in the day. he said he'd rather lose years off his life than try to sleep with that thing on. he finally found a solution though, we have an adjustable bed frame and keep the head of the bed raised up some. He sleeps soundly and does not do the snoring/gasping thing at all anymore.

I had a mask for a while. It was a pain. You know my house is not clean enough. So i got freaked out about, was i blowing mold into my lungs. Plus it was making jowl marks on my face like a couple of episodes of The Twilight Zone.

I found stopping caffeine and using legal marijuana to have helped the most with my chronic insomnia. I don't go near big pharma except for antibiotics. And if I could figure out how to grow my own of that - I would.
I have found using a bed that raises and lowers helps a lot when I get sinus infections - raising up means I don't wake up all night choking

It’s pretty easy. I make an egg/milk mixture (1 egg to 1/2 cup milk, which is good for about four slices of bread), soak the bread in the mix (each side) and then fry the bread in a skillet.

The egg/milk mix is where you would put sugar in if you wanted it. And then to double down, powdered sugar on top. (Ewww.)

I use a full mask. At some point over this last year, I developed more sleeping problems. Yay, I mean I already only sleep an average of 6 hours a night. Which is up from the 3-4 I was getting when I first started to see T. Some nights I'll even get 8. I wasn't on CPAP when I first started with T. My first CPAP test was at home and my Apnea was just bad enough to suggest a CPAP; however my O2 would drop into the high 70's. After some surgery and significant weight loss, I had 2nd sleep study in the clinic. The Apnea is within range/though on the higher side, my O2 still drops too low. It's higher but at that point it would still get into the mid 80%. Now I get to go back in for a 3rd study, again in the clinic to rule out REM sleep behavior disorder - or maybe I should say rule in as I'm pretty textbook in description and I hadn't even googled it before I talked to T about it.

I have a love/hate relationship with my CPAP. I love waking up and feeling like I've actually breathed through the night. When I first started using it, I could actually feel like my lungs had gotten oxygen. I don't get that feeling any more. So maybe it was just the newness. I also like that with it I can sleep with a blanket over my head; as my wife likes the room much cooler than I do. I dislike the pressure it can put on my face, the limitation of sleeping on stomach, and the marks it leaves on my face in the mornings. I also dislike how it feels like it has gotten between me and my wife because I can't cuddle her like I used to while wearing it because it blows air on her.

I don't feel well today, emotionally. I should have just stayed home from work. One would think being at work would be a distraction. But it's slow and I don't have much work to do so that makes me bored which just makes me ruminate on not feeling well. I was having a streak of good days. But today....not so much. I don't know why. Nothing changed.

Hope your shift ends soon.

If there's no work maybe listening to an audiobook would help?

"I don't want to talk about this." "Let's change the subject." "We've talked enough about this for today."

He usually respects that, but sometimes he does push back gently or steer the conversation back later. If I'm adamant about not talking about it, he lets it go. It is my session after all.

See now, I tried those things and he is still insisting. Like, really pushing me, and sort of getting mad that I don’t want to talk about it. I feel like he’s not respecting my boundaries... and therapists get to have so many freaking boundaries for themselves; why don’t I get to have one??!

Yeah that's really frustrating.

I guess it depends on the subject. The only subjects that T's have ever really pushed me on when I didn't want to talk about it was SH and SI. And I guess that's like a safety thing.

I'm sorry your T isn't respecting your boundaries. That's not cool.
