OK, I just mentioned something to H regarding therapy and our discussion about what I called the "stromboli response" (which is what we had for dinner last night that I reacted to). And now that sounds like some sort of weird psychological term, "the stromboli response."

Perhaps I have a new chapter title for my memoir...

It would be rude to continually pull out my phone so it's hard to have a real sense of time.

Other times it feels like the session just flies by. This is usually when I'm in crisis or dealing with some serious issue. It seems like it hasn't been enough time. And then I get to the car and see that it has or that we are even a touch over.

Time should be constant but it's not. Reminds me of a presentation I gave on time in my physics lab back in High School. It was rather dramatic and I had the main character going mad and time was increasingly erratic. I got an A on the project even though it seems more appropriate for English or something. Then again, my physics prof didn't care about grades and though they were pointless tools of the school to get him to behave like a normal teacher. I had been afraid to take physics and he said he would not let my grade drop below a B so I took physics and loved it.

That sounds like a really cool presentation!

L has 2 clocks in the room - one on the table between us facing me, that feels like it's right in my face and is about 3 feet tall (which of course it's really not, I'm just overly aware of it because I'm so paranoid about running over) and she has a smaller one on the floor underneath the table facing her. She always tells me that she's responsible for minding the time, but then can't really answer the question "then why is there a clock staring at me?"

Thanks for all the thoughts on my daughter. She ultimately a very responsible girl and checks in if she going to do something other than what she went out to do. She will book into motels with her friends.

In other news i dont know what i have done to deserve some atrocious youtube recommendations.

H and I were just out looking at a couple of houses. One of them we both totally loved as far as the house itself - loved everything about the actual house - but the backyard is tiny. As if it were an afterthought, the builder said "Oh, oops, we forgot to account for a backyard, oh well let's slap up a wall and call it a day" the backyard was so small it looked like I could literally lay down and put my feet flat on the house, and stretch out my arms and touch the back wall. A real shame, if the yard had been bigger, it would have been a contender.

On the way home we stopped at the bakery and I got a loaf of artisan bread, I'm going to try to re-create the eggplant parm sandwich I had a few days ago. I found a recipe for the air fryer.

Also dreamt last night that i worked in disability residential place but before it was that it was plant nursery but the ads were still current for the nursery so i had to care for the residents as well as try and tell people its not a nursery anymore as they kept trying to buy the pot plants but there was this one woman who kept coming back trying to buy pond plants.

I rarely remember my dreams. Sometimes I feel like I am conscious of them as I am dreaming and I am consciously trying to get away from the dream. But when I wake up I rarely remember anything from the dream, or it is gone within a few seconds. I'm always disappointed when I wake up before midnight (I go to bed at 7 PM most nights) and realize that I've already been dreaming. I know that dreaming is important in the sleep cycle but to me it is such a bother.

The day slipped by quickly because I was reading a book by Ann Cleeves. For a long time I was having such difficulty reading. Now I am soaking up my Ann Cleeves books. I'm going to need to order more soon at this pace.

For some reason, every so often, I get modern xtian music recommendations. I am always horrified and wonder what algorithm brought that up. Like does listening to Bach's St. Matthew Passion mean I am doomed to having modern xtian boy bands show up as recommended for me? It appears so.

I call it a rousing success! It's delicious. I'm using jar spaghetti sauce, I know it would be even better with fresh made... that will be for a future endeavor.

Be sure to figure out hotels ahead of time. Some will not allow minors to check themselves into their hotels. Might be a problem.

Trust me, you don’t want a *sugar free* one.

Why do you eat these things, ex-gangster? It’s already an abomination with sugar, taking sugar away makes it more so?

I know what auto-correct did there and it’s too cute to change.

I love the new name!

The chocolate in these things is the best chocolate ive had in years. Just unctuous. An who doesnt like mint? The first two are great. I just tried a third piece and didnt even remember eating it, so that was an interesting experiment, not to be repeated.

Im down almost 10 lbs this month, which is not even 10 pct of what i need to lose, and more than i have lost in 4 years, and in 15 years before that. I am trying to find what works for me. It feels like i am always depriving and never succeeding.
Possible trigger:

I need the limiting function of the maltilol. Its like antabuse for chocaholics. SD wanted me to try the Skinner box, so im complying. BTW, no jury dury for me next week, so my civic duty has been fulfilled thanks to covid.

My parents used to buy this giant box of full-size Peppermint Patties from...Price Club? Some sort of pre-Costco/Sam's Club warehouse store. And then we'd each eat one after dinner sometimes. I like that it's dark chocolate. Though chocolate tends to give me a headache now, so...

Thanks for this. Also needing the guarantee of a credit card, not a cash card.

I just wanna ask, whose idea was this? Were the girl's parents willing, but the teenagers WAAAAANTED to do it? Sorry, but there are just too many bad reports around here this time of year. I know we have different times of year, but still!

Does your daughter realize she will have to ZOOM us every morning noon and night?

I am unsure now my ex says you drive it in 17 hours with 3 one hour rest stops. I was basing it on the fact that my daughter seemed tired ofter driving 4 hours with small rest breaks but that was 2 years ago and she didnt have the confidence back then. I have only driven it once 19 years ago with a 3 year old and a 6 month old and we stopped frequently overnight several times so maybe i am not the best one to be advising. I am just going to let it go and see what happens as my anxiety is ramping up. I will tackle things as they come up seems the best way

So, I struggle to even ride (let alone drive) in a car for more than 5 hours (the trip back from our honeymoon, a 6- or 7-hour drive, was torture). I can drive for 3, maybe 4. Like I would need to break up that long of a drive into maybe 4 days. But some people have much more stamina for driving/riding, and maybe your daughter is one of them?

Hey, if ex-h is their first stop on the way there, maybe he can go with them the rest of the way. I think he better be prepared to! Or maybe the girl's parents will meet them there.

Okay, i feel better now!

She is going to be fine. You are being a good mother, in my opinion (not that what I think matters).

All of the u.s. hyper parent fear mongering and molly coddling of late teens is really not good for anyone.
