We went to an open house yesterday afternoon after i got home from L, er, we tried to but they had already closed up shop, and while the listing still says for sale and isn't contingent or anything yet, the open house is no longer advertised (was supposed to be today and tomorrow too). I assume that means they already got so many offers they know it's as good as sold. Which is okay because we weren't going to buy it anyway, we're just starting to see what's out there.

I hope you're in with your T right now, Kit. I know there was another time she forgot you were meeting in person. This seems like an important week to meet with her...

Luckily for me, I never noticed any odors from the actual therapist. The first one had an office in a very very old building - so it smelled like old building. But my house is over 100 years old, so it smells the same way. Sometimes she had candles, but it was only noticeable when she switched to some over eager floral scent.

The second one was in a fairly odor free zone. I don't recall anything from there. Scents are pretty powerful for me - so luckily the experience with those two didn't ruin any scents for me

Dr. T doesn't have an actual scent that I associate with him, other than maybe coffee. Partly because he drinks it constantly, partly because his office is a floor above a coffee shop. Though that coffee shop smells as often of burnt toast as it does of coffee (I walk past it going to the elevator). Guess it's been close to a year since I've smelled that... Though sometimes the hallway outside his office would smell of incense or essential oils that were used by a massage therapist who worked there. And the waiting room would sometimes smell like lavender.

Ex-MC had a particular cologne or aftershave or deodorant that he wore that had a strong scent. It definitely smelled like something cheap you'd get at the drugstore, like Old Spice or something, not some nice cologne. No scents associated with ex-T.

OK, this is going to sound weird, but my therapist's office smelled like him. Like some musky, pheromone thing because he spent so much time in the room. Not BO or something unpleasant. I found it pleasant actually. Now that he's closing his practice down and not spending as much time in his office, it doesn't smell the same anymore.

Angry people seem to me even more brazen when hiding behind their computer than they are hiding behind the phone. Luckily, it is easier to shrug off the angry emails than it is to shrug off the angry caller that is yelling in your ear!

I don't think I've ever smelt palo santo, Artie. I'm intrigued. Now that I think about it, R strikes me as an incense-type person, maybe.

I dont understand the incense thing and therapists. I find the smell of incense makes me angry and i cant think. But most therapists have it. My exT was big on ritual which i didnt understand at all. At one point he lit a lamp at the start of something and i had to blow the lamp out at the end and no explanation was given, besides honouring the work but i didnt understand what that meant so i eventually gave up asking questions because i didnt undestand the answers

Yeah the one customer service job i had was on phones and to escalate his job to the next level i had to ask him to do the troubleshooting which he said he had done before but there was nothing in his notes and he bashed the phone on the table and nearly deafened me and screamed at me. I quit the next week. I call it my 30 second job. I only lasted 10 weeks.

I have 2 homework 'assignments' for over the next 2 weeks til I see L again. She wants me to do some Active Imaginations with a couple of dreams we worked with in December/January. I really love that technique for working with dreams, and I almost always get valuable information from them... when I am reminded to do them, that is. Heh. I'm very good at 'forgetting' that I know how helpful the technique is for me. I've been resisting since mid-December working with one of these dreams in particular so we shall see what comes up when I do.

First pineapple baby bootie done! I used scrap yarn for the test, since I don't have very much of the colors I'm going to use for the final product for my friend. I wanted to be sure the pattern worked first. I love it!!!

When I say smells like therapist, I mean therapy really--hence rotting potpourri. I have never picked up on a specific Info smell.

My favorite smell is actually burnt toast, because it's the smell I associate with my mother (who likes her toast burnt).

I don't think I know what rotting potpourri smells like. I am grateful for that as it sounds unpleasant. Once you have put rotting in there - I don't pleasant is an option

Thanks! It was gonna just be my test run but I showed a pic to my friend who ordered them and she was all google eyed over it haha! so I guess it isn't a test anymore now I just have to make the other one and get them mailed off to her.

Although another of my friends just posted a pic of a dishcloth she made using the waffle stitch, and it looks sooo cool so now of course I have to go learn that stitch heehee before I make the other bootie. It is easy for me to get carried away with this stuff once I start.
