It sounds to me like Info has fun choosing outfits and wearing bold clothes, and I think that's cool.

Lots of women, especially older ones, are given the message they need to stay quiet and tasteful and in the background. Happy to see someone who isn't giving in to that pressure.

I think misogyny is deeply rooted. But to be clear - I am not criticizing the report of the therapist's clothes in and of itself - but rather the scorn and disapproval and harsh interpretation by readers of such report. Straight men are not scrutinized in such ways.
I myself am a comfy dresser - more the lesbian ex-nun tilting to early 80s preppy (blundstones, chinos, and oxford cloth).

I had a boss who used to come to work in a dark purple velour long evening gown. In the summer. It had a little jacket covering the 2 inch wide straps. It freaked me out that my future depended on her decision-making ability, given that that dress was an example of it.

In the news around the same time there was a guy who wore a tux to work.

My favorite eras of mens and womens fashions are probably 1930's - 1960's.

I've mostly been sleeping at my BF's place but was at my apt last night because I had a Thursday evening class and Friday morning therapy appt. I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that apparently there are now mice in the WALLS?!

I woke up at 3am to an ungodly scrabbling/scratching/scrambling and looked all over my room to see if I could locate the source, but after a thorough search the noise seemed to be coming from the walls themselves, particularly the wall between my room and my roommate's. I asked my roommate about it just now and she was like, "oh yeah, that's been happening for the last month or so. It seems like there's a whole family of mice in there; maybe chipmunks?"

I just... what?! I realize why she didn't tell the landlord (he is a lazy POS and will likely do absolutely nothing about this) but I'm surprised that she a) didn't mention it to me b) isn't at all upset about it. WTF?

So, I can give a T fashion report today. Dr. T was wearing a tropical (like Hawaiian) shirt with the animal mascot of our local baseball team sprinkled throughout. Apparently, it's an annual giveaway at the stadium. I was like, "Oh, that's very tropical! Oh hey...aren't those [mascots]?" He said he tries to make sure to get one every year (though didn't think they had one last year due to COVID).

Now I'm envisioning a "Hawaiian baseball shirt" section of his closet.

Ugh, sorry you're dealing with that! And your roommate definitely should have mentioned it sooner... We've had mice problems off and on and at one point had one in the bedroom wall. H actually cut a hole in the drywall and managed to set a (catch and release) trap up there. We caught the mouse while I was on a Dr. T session in the same room...

Of course, you shouldn't be cutting holes in the wall in an apartment, but I'd definitely contact the landlord. They should have pest control come out and find any possible places where the mice are getting in and plug them, maybe put traps or poison in the walls, if possible.

If your landlord won't do anything, maybe ask if he'd be willing to reimburse if you call pest control? I think the initial inspection is free from some places. If you're in a multiunit building and know your neighbors, maybe ask them if they've had issues, too? We're in a townhouse and learned our next-door neighbors also had mice issues. And when I was in an apartment, they were pretty much in all the apartments in my building.

That's a very specific style description, but also quite evocative. Now I'm trying to think about how to describe my style. Currently in tie-dye shirt and joggers, but if I was out someplace, I'd be in jeans (maybe with a bit of distressing on them) and some sort of fashion sneakers/slip-on canvas shoes.

Interpretation of clothing tends to particularly be an issue when a woman is running for/holds political office. Or when her spouse is. I just think of so much discussion about Hillary Clinton's suits... Or what Melania Trump was wearing. OK, there was Obama's lack of a flag pin or whatever, but still not the same sort of scrutiny at all.
Thanks for this!

See, we judge straight men’s “fashion” too.

And at least Info is never going to show up in a free Hawaiian shirt with a baseball mascot printed on it. She would never stoop to that. I mean, she has taste.

I called DBC’s husband “Hawaiian shirt” because that is what he always wore.

Hey una...what are you wearing? All your girls want to know.

I decided not to wear my usual oversized blue t shirt to therapy today. Instead I'm wearing one of my favorite blouse-type shirts, it's tan mostly with a combination leopard print / snakeskin print sort of thing with silvery threads throughout, it's hard to describe, it's a light fabric and has these big flow-y sleeves. I can't explain it, but I love it, it's so "me". Wearing the usual black leggings though.

My foot was hurting more and more so I went to the doctor today. I have a break in one big toe joint and, apparently, the trauma caused a gout attack in the other joint. They gave me this really ugly show with a firm sole to wear around for a few weeks. Stupid extension cord! Or maybe stupid me for tripping over it.

It's quite unpleasant. I've had one attack before caused by excessive alcohol consumption. I didn't know it could be caused by injury.

And my ex ruined my entire evening by playing on my feelings of being a bad mother. I spent the entire time dissociated and confused. I hate him i really should know by now, but he sets things up so well. Anyway he isnt coming back to live here so thats one thing.
In other news my daughter got a job at Subway she starts training next week i am so happy.

Had a really good session today. I was feeling a little ashamed of what I'd written to her last Saturday, and sure enough when I got there she said she had my email printed out and ready. Well, part of the reason I sent it was to make sure we'd talk about what I'd figured out (so I couldn't chicken out) so I'm glad but still... ugh. I also had the realization today that sometimes I email her stuff that feels uncomfortable because I want her to hold it for me instead of me sitting with it. Which was the case last weekend. But, she was her best non-judgmental self and so talking about it, being curious about it together, wasn't bad at all. We worked with the one dream I had written down over the past week and that was enlightening, she drummed for me a little and I did a short active imagination while she drummed that I narrated for her as it went. Good stuff today.

Dr google says gout never goes away, it just lies dormant. Is the gout attack not in the broken joint, just in the unbroken one? That does seem remarkable. Now i wanna see xrays! ive been watching a lot of chiropodist youtube
