I used to subscribe to Birchbox, but finally quit because I just had too many samples (and I was really depressed and basically quit washing my face so what use did I have for more cleanser and moisturizer samples). I used to take the ones I didn't want to work and leave them in the bathroom where they got snatched up really quickly. I wish I had known about that swap site.
I think my favorite part was the actual box they sent it in. Some were really pretty and I've kept a handful to use for storing small stuff in.

I did Birchbox a while ago, and agreed that the boxes themselves were nice! I've done Ipsy (similar one) recently, but they're raising their prices and the stuff isn't that great, so thinking I'll fully cancel soon (instead of just skipping months). I've gotten away from makeup during the pandemic, so would mostly just want skincare (or like tinted lip balm) anyway. They do include makeup bags with the subscription, but I can only use so many of those!

We had a squirrel that used to play with the dog. When the dog came outside it would run back and forth across the fence, dog would chase him. When the dog got tired and went to lie down, the squirrel would chatter at him and run back and forth trying to get him to keep chasing.

Old man cat just walked into the room and demanded I open the door to let him out. These days he mostly eats and lays around under the car or under the neighbor's bushes(not sure what he'll do when it gets colder) and just keeps on ticking. Sweet muffin kitty checks on him and is nice to him even when he's crotchety. It's nice having him around.

You seem to be confysing “play” with “tease mercilessly.”

Squirrels do this with cats, too, though usually from the safety of the other side of the window.

The absolutely funniest thing i ever saw was in november 1984, we had a big snow and i was sitting at my kitchen table drinking coffee and looking out the back window.

A squirrel comes tiptoeing across a telephone line that has like 4 inches of snow piled on it, loses his footing, wraps his hand claws together and his feet paws around the wire like he is nadia comenice and swings around parallel, around and around, then somehow and i think the hand of god was at work here, he is back straight up and continuing walking across the wire. I think i blacked out, if he didnt!

We had some fireworks around 6pm but they stopped that ish right up.

His hair grew back, but despite our best efforts he's getting matted again so I think it's time for a shave. And the coat. I may just order him a pipe and maybe some old man slippers.

i ended up ordering the mindful souls box. excited to get the first one! Not so excited about working today. need to spend the next few minutes getting higher on the old 'mood elevator' right now I'm sitting around irritated and bothered. I'd rather go back to bed!!

I was supposed to be meeting with Dr. T right now, but he texted me a little bit ago to say he's in line getting a Covid test (he just returned from a trip) and will need to push it back at least an hour. I hope he's just doing it as a precaution and not because he has symptoms. I thought you were supposed to wait 5 days after a possible exposure, but maybe he's just testing now and then again later this week?

I do appreciate that he's still fitting me in instead of canceling or putting me off until tomorrow. Though I do wonder if it means he has to cancel/postpone some other clients? But I'm sure he knows that I struggled with his absence (even though I managed to not contact him for a week!). So maybe he's prioritizing me in some way? I told him if it had to be this afternoon, that was fine, too.

ETA: Now he updated to say he won't be available until at least 1 (it's 10:30 here now). I said if he was still able to fit me in today, I'd really appreciate it.

I hope everything's OK, LT, and that you still get to have a session today.

OK, just heard back, we're meeting in 20 minutes. He said the line and testing took 3 hours.

I'm so glad you still get to meet with him today. I hope your session goes well. And yuck with the line and testing taking 3 hours!! hope he's ok.

I hate it when you order something, it says delivered but you didn't get. Then you contact the seller and their response is to contact the postmaster. It says delivered at mailbox! If it's not there, they probably put it in the wrong mailbox. I live in an apartment so it happens. I doubt I'll ever get it now and the seller won't help. It was just hemp thread, but still...

Thanks, Artie. So it turns out the reason he got tested this morning is he's having possible Covid symptoms... His sinuses are clogged up, he's coughing, he said his throat's bothering him. He's like never sick, so it was a bit unsettling to see him that way, especially considering the possibility...

I said that I was concerned about him and hoped it wasn't Covid. He said he appreciated my concern about his health. And: "Yeah, if I die, you'll have to go through the work of breaking in another therapist." Me: "I imagine you'd feel bad for that therapist." Dr. T: "No."

He's supposed to get results of the rapid test (they did that and also PCR test) in next hour or two, and he said he'd let me know. Which I appreciate. I said I felt bad asking, but he said because he told me he was getting the test, then he would tell me the results.


We met (virtually, obviously) from his basement, where he's quarantining from his wife and son. I really hope he's OK...he's vaccinated, so I know it would likely be a mild case if he had it, but I've heard too many stories lately of vaccinated people ending up in the hospital.

I'm glad he's vaccinated. Hoping for a negative result! I was so worried about L when she had Covid early in the pandemic, well before there were vaccines. I am so very thankful that she recovered.
