Thanks, Artie! I feel relieved, though will feel better if the PCR is negative, too.

I'm trying to process how I feel about all of it. He seemed almost vulnerable during session. Like I think he was scared. He kept making reference to, "Well, if I die..." and was sort of joking about it, but it seemed like there was worry underneath. Even when I asked about the trip, he said how he'd enjoyed it while there, but if he ends up dying, it wouldn't have been worth it.

Plus I don't even think I've seen him sick before (maybe a really minor cold), just injured. And today he sounded sick, was coughing some, looked kind of rough, was drinking water instead of the coffee he always drinks. I'm sure it affected me more because of the possibility of it being Covid.

I don't know what I'm getting at here, just sort of rambling and trying to process it.

I looked in her cage and didn't see it. It's probably under the bed, dresser or night stands. She only has access to our bedroom and bathroom, so it couldn't have gone far.

Also, I don't think she would have actually swallowed any of it. She usually just destroys stuff: kleenex, paper, shoes, walls, wood furniture... She's never swallowed anything I know of. And I don't see any pieces either.

@@, I wonder if you could make ricotta gnocchi with gluten-free flour? Easy and light.

The quiche sounds amazing. Recipe? I made a giant batch of pesto last week and between you and una I’m dreaming of ricotta pesto quiche.

Update that Dr. T's PCR test (the kind that's most accurate) also came back negative for Covid. I imagine he may have to test again later in the week if he's still having symptoms, but I still feel relieved.

@WarmFuzzySocks, my standard quiche recipe with ricotta and parmesan swapped out for most of the cheese:

4 eggs
1.5 cups cream
15 ounces ricotta cheese
6 ounces shredded/grated parmesan cheese

Then, to preference:
1/4 to 1/2 cup per add-in (protein, more cheese, veg)
seasoning (I do salt, white pepper, basil, sage, garlic, onion, oregano)--3 or 4 shakes of the container each, or a generous pinch

Mix together by hand, food processor, as you like.

6 servings normally, but 8 with the ricotta. It seemed like there was more fluidity with the ricotta, i.e., you might go up a pan size.

Bake at 375 degrees for @45 minutes. Glass pans are best for a crustless quiche, though I make mine in ramekins since I'll be eating it over the course of a week and it helps heat dinner up quickly.

All sorts of crap going around right now. It's allergy season - ragweed is the devil! There are some seriously miserable viruses going around that aren't Covid - RSV for one (and yes, adults can get RSV, just presents differently than kids). So the latest party game is, "Is this a cold or allergies or COVID?" They all pretty much look alike at this point as far as presenting early symptoms go. My son just tested negative for Covid just yesterday. He and his cooperating teacher both came down with colds, but she's pregnant and they are teaching elementary kids (none are obviously vaccinated), so they both tested just to be on the careful side. I felt fairly certain he just had a cold (fully vaccinated and has had Covid already once), but testing was prudent under the circumstances.

I've had one student test positive, but none of the students in my class around him tested positive, so we dodged that one. We have 12-15 cases per week in our building at this point - over 3500 in and out of the building each day. Hopefully things will start slowing down, but we're not seeing things trending that direction yet.

I was hoping to go spend christmas with my family this year but I'm just not wanting to even think about getting on a plane even though i'm vaccinated. with the delta variant and whatnot, i worry not only about myself but even more about possibly being infected and not knowing it and then unwittingly infecting somebody back at home, i would never forgive myself. Needless to say, I'm not getting on a plan anytime soon.

break time yay! i'm working live chat today and it has not been a pleasant morning. I just keep reminding myself I have a 5 day weekend after tomorrow! Taking some vacation days again. I want to cook, crochet, and read. I will probably just sleep and play games on my phone. Oh, and watch Lucifer season 6. Knowing me, i'll binge all 10 episodes on Friday when they come out, but I'm at least going to give it a cursory try not to.

At least I won't be worrying about the audit or the recent weirdness with L anymore.

**fingers crossed** I just got a call from the county. I'm reapplying for rental assistance. Let's hope it goes through this time.

Thanks, Artley, these are good points. I've had issues with allergies myself lately. I've heard some bad colds (particularly those caused by adenovirus) are going around and knew RSV was increasing in kids, but didn't realize adults could get it as well. So perhaps Dr. T has one of those.

I'm glad your son tested negative and agree it was prudent to test. Hope things will slow down in your school soon. School just started last week here, so too soon to tell (though a nearby county started earlier and has had to quarantine a pretty large number of kids--they don't have a mask mandate though, I don't think, and have lower vaccination rates than us).

I'm really wondering how things are going to be at my D's elementary school once cold/flu season kick into higher gear (hopefully it will be less bad due to masking). Whether they're going to keep sending kids home to quarantine/get tested (well, they can test at school if they have symptoms) because they have a cough or runny nose. Just hope we won't have to keep her home for multiple 10-day stretches as a precaution. (Especially because their "plan" during that is for her to download some assignments online...)

Ugh, now we got an email that 3 people at her school (they can't say if students or staff) tested positive. They said no one is at risk going to school, so I'm guess maybe they got tested in the last couple days when schools were closed (Mon/Tues) and just reported it? Sigh...

And this is normally something I'd reach out to Dr. T about, but not doing that now, with his recent concerns and my email to him this morning. I'll just wait to talk to him Friday for session (assuming we don't get any other indication that D was potentially in contact with them--they said health department would reach out about that if needed).

Good news everyone! You don't have to worry about my dog! I was cleaning and found the cpap cushion under the night stand intact. Just a bunch of teeth marks in it.

Yup. Starts tomorrow. I'm not anxious (yet) but I figure tomorrow I will be. And I have an individual therapy session on Friday with the IOP's therapist. Just as well. Dr. K was not that helpful last night. He suggested I cut down on my stress by not working. Um. Dude. This is the real world. I have a car to pay for and insurance to pay for and health care to pay for. Plus if I didn't work I would probably never shower and I would be in a mess because I wouldn't have a routine. Not that I don't appreciate the odd day off or dream about what I'll do when I retire in like 25 - 30 years but I still need to work. It's part of life.

We got denied again for the rental assistance. They refuse to look at our income from July 2020 to February 2021 which are the only months we're asking for. They keep looking at our current income...

That's so dumb! Of course I can pay today's rent with my next year's salary, duh.
