Anyone heard of Antsy Labs? They have this cool fidget cube. I got one for work and for home. It drives my Mom crazy though. Helps get out some of that nervous energy though.

My coworker is getting married. I'm happy for her. She's been with the guy for like 5 years and they are getting married next month. I bought a couple of wedding gifts for them. I'm not invited to the wedding (she lives and works in NY and I am in CA) but I do like a good celebration! I'm a teensy bit sad for myself because I don't think I will ever be married. So I am having a little pity party for one over here.

If it matters at all, I don't think getting married is the most important thing in the world!

What about “a therapist just hugged stopdog”?

I am just home and got my booster shot on the way. Loam dog does not recognize ownee incapacitation as valid and wants to play.

I think I saved a bird this evening. I was walking to my car and it was trapped in some netting that was over some flowers, squawking frantically. I cut some of the netting with my key, and it flew off. It probably still had some stuck around its neck, but at least it could fly.

I did sanitize my hands after (I didn't touch the actual bird).

I survived my last two shifts in my old department. Tomorrow morning I start training at another location.

Although I did enjoy the weight loss that came with a physically taxing job - but I am too old (46) to be hauling totes around and loading orders into customers cars. I've lost 36 lbs since moving away from ex-h.

I think this is fascinating! However, at my age, and given my poor eyesight these days, I would never be able to do micro-crocheting. It's really neat-o though! Thanks so much for sharing!

I am a huge fan of miniatures, too.

I’ve seen those micro crochet animals, they’re really impressive! I started crocheting some slippers for my mum, but lost enthusiasm. I’m more of a knitter than anything.
Thanks for trying the Cool whip thing, @SprinkL3! I was wondering if it did anything but thought I might look silly. Like when you used to get discount codes to read out on the phone - there never seemed to be a good moment to actually do that lol.

I sometimes like to look silly, LOL, so I took a risk. At least there weren't funky alarms and sirens going off, LOL.

I had no idea there was a difference between knitting and crocheting until now. It sounds like hard work, but also very fun and crafty.

I like doing arts and crafts, but lately I haven't been able to concentrate or get into it. I used to be good at sketching people or making cards to pass out at Easter or Christmas. I'm not good at those things anymore. I will eventually get back into it, but I'm just not there yet.

That was funny about the discount codes. I never actually did that either.

I've seen those mini crochets too. They're called Amigurumi. I buy mine from SuAmi on Etsy. I've bought 2: an elephant with a pink dress and a collie. L has the elephant one right now...well indefinitely. I gave it to her because I couldn't afford to buy her one too (over our agreed upon 10% of session fee limit). She wears the bracelet it's on every session to remind us to not ignore the pink elephants in the room.

L and I wish we could make them and then sell them to afford my therapy fees.

Good news/bad news:

First, I'm feeling better! I wasn't eating the last couple days and had major GI upset. But I ate yesterday, so that helped. And then I was able to take a nap yesterday too. And L has been so so helpful by calling me everyday and allowing many email exchanges. She's been so supportive and didn't overreact to my SI. I was seriously going towards hospitalization this week, but she helped me through all of this.

Good news is that L thought of a way to reduce my fees. You ask your insurance to do a single case agreement. From what she said, if you can prove that she provides a service that you can't find in-network then the insurance will pay for the out-of-network provider. I hope I get approved!

Bad news is that the search for apartments is over...for now. I gave 100% effort and nothing worked out. For the places we actually liked either their internet was too slow for H, they didn't accept 5 dogs, or was too expensive. So we're going to try to make a deal with our management today and try to reduce our bills as much as possible. Reducing L's fees will help a ton.

Btw...I'm at 28days with no cigarettes! It's saving us $400 a month, so that's a big help too.

And I'm going to try to convince my dad to give up the garage. All that's in there is his junk, and it's costing us $150 a month.

I hope the insurance thing works out for you, Scarlet.

One thought with the rent--is it a place that has a bunch of units, like an apartment building, or is it more of a house that's rented to you buy an individual? If it's the second one, you could maybe offer to do some work on the property, like, I don't know, painting or some sort of repair, if it's something that you, your H, or father would be willing/able to do. And then they could take that off the rent. My friend who rent a house have done that.

That would be the most improbable thing I have heard today. But the day is young.

Ownee incapacitation is cured by playing with dog. Or at least that seems to be how my dogs view it.

I am glad you detangled the bird LT. I did laugh (at myself) at the hand sanitizer part because I never would have thought about such a thing. I don't think I even own any hand sanitizer. It took me a second to figure out how that related to bird saving. Well might one wonder how I got to be this old with my somewhat cavalier/clueless attitude towards germs. I was at the physical therapist's office this week and one of the pregnant ones was talking about how she would kill for a rare steak, sushi, and a glass of wine. Her customer said she had those when she was pregnant and her kids were fine but the pregnant pt said she couldn't take a risk even if it was just .00000000000001 (or something like that - she went on for a bit and I was being twisted by the pt person I drew). I doubt my mother would have had children if she had to stop having a whiskey sour, cigarettes, and rare steak for 9 months (interestingly enough -she stopped smoking cold turkey for the grandchildren). I am interested in how society controls women with such scare tactics.

Given I have an appointment with Info this afternoon, there may be more improbable things to come.

I find the way society demonizes women if their child isn’t born “normal” off-putting. Like if there is something wrong with the child they must have smoked or drank while pregnant.

Or not followed doctors’ advice, which in pregnancy can be really wild. When my mother was pregnant with my sister, she was supposed to swallow a spoonful of cod liver oil a day. When pregnant with us (and we were only a couple years apart), it was “eat four eggs a day.”

We just had to put one of my dogs to sleep. She had teeth surgery Tuesday. The emergency vet doctor thinks it might have been a complication.
Possible trigger:
I'm hurting so bad.
