Couch 233: Nothing’s Ghana Stop Us Now

I was supposed to see Julieanne (my new T) tonight but she said she had a doctor's appointment today when she scheduled that appointment with me and that she might need to change. So she did need to change, which is fine. The day she proposed we change to, I can't because I have Church and I have missed too many weeks as it is. So I proposed a few other days. Then later, before she had responded, I wrote back and said that I know she wanted the month of December off and that I am really doing okay right now. Haven't been in crisis for a good little bit. Doing good with SH, etc. There's nothing in my life that demands immediate attention and nothing that I am going through that cannot wait to be brought up with her after the holiday. I also told her that I would let her know if things changed. And she wrote back and said she appreciated that and even though we have only had two sessions she feels like she can trust me to tell her if I need help. And that she could schedule me during December if I decide I need help. So we are leaving it at that. I had felt bad that I was taking up her time off when she was scheduling me in December because one of the very first things she told me was "I am taking the month of December off" when I first met her, so it's not like I didn't know.

I am applying for a promotion at my work. Fingers crossed.

Good luck SK will that mean no scanning a shipping container of documents? Lets hope so lol.

Of which I've managed about two drawerfuls. Ha. I put that on my review how I haven't managed to get that mountain of crap scanned yet. I told them it would take me 74 years, in which case, I would be dead by then. But if I do get the promotion, I'm handing off that job to someone else.

I'm trying to jump into management so we'll see. Even though my MBA is in Management and Leadership and my BS is in Organizational Management and Human Resource Management and I have about 15 years experience managing at various levels, I have never managed a manufacturing shop before. But I know how to manage people, projects, time, and ideas so I am hopeful that will be on my side. My bosses are out of the country, about 10 hours ahead of me right now, so they haven't gotten my email yet about putting my name in the hat, but they probably will overnight my time. I'll see if they say anything about it tomorrow when I get to work.

I have group tonight. I'm a little worried that by being straight forward about my mental health issues at work, this might cast me in a negative light when it comes to the promotion I am applying for. EEK. Oh well. I can't unspill milk.

You know as well as I do that a PhD doesn’t mean brains, just sitzfleisch—the ability to park your butt in a chair and endure until you get it done.

I woke up this morning with excruciating tooth pain. My wisdom tooth is infected, and it is MISERABLE. Especially since it will take a few days for the antibiotics to kick in. With this and all the cavities being filled, and needing to get a mouth guard, I feel like me and my dentist are BFF's right now. So much pain and so much money. UGH. I also need to get my wisdom teeth out at the end of the month. I can't even go there because it terrifies me too much.

Of all the dental work I’ve had done, wisdom tooth extraction was pretty much par for the course. Better than getting a crown for sure.

Yeah? All i know is that i have two small cracks in my teeth that could eventually need a crown hence why i am paying $700 for A mouth guard to wear at night. now to add to the bill from all my cavities i had filled, and then the cost of an oral surgeon. Happy Holidays!!!

Ugh, I hate dental work. I have been through the ringer with my teeth. After years and years of trying to fix/save my teeth, I'm left with only 8 bottom front teeth (2 with crowns, and 2 with fillings) and a full upper denture. I'm just grateful that I'm no longer in pain. Teeth pain is one of the worst!

Wow i was in the pet store today and a lady wanted to buy a large number of birds and fish the guy was asking questions to find out how big her aviary/cage and tanks were. Nooe this lady wanted to release the birds into her trees and put the fish in the river she didn t realise that the birds would just fly away and the fish would swim away she really thought that the fish and birds would hang around the area of her house plus its illegal to release exotic species into the wild. She was so upset and started crying i felt so sorry for her.

Ugh Velcro. I hope that your antibiotics start working quickly so the pain isn't as bad. Tooth pain is the worst. I never understand how such huge pain can be crammed into such a little area. Hugs if wanted.

I have a fasting lab this morning and I forgot to fast. Guess I have to reschedule... This sucks.

Depending on what they're doing, it could be worth calling to see if you have to reschedule. I think for some things, they would just need to make a note if you didn't fast.

No word from my bosses yet about the possible promotion. I'm thinking no news is good news. (At least they didn't come right out and say no.) They are on vacation right now but I know they are workaholics so I am 99% sure they got my email of me putting in for the position. But since they are on vacation, I am not anticipating getting any sort of response this week. I'm just kind of on pins and needles. I'm always so bored at work. A new challenge would be good. I think I'm up for the task.

Speaking of being bored, I am so bored at work right now. I'm like, hmmmm. What is there to do. Twiddle my thumbs. Or work on that horrible scanning project.
